Comment:

He gives A LOT of in-class writing assignments which become your homework. There are a total of 2 exams & 2 papers. The pros about this class is if you show up and do all the assignments & participate, it will be an easy A for you. Cons: He doesn't provide you updated overall grades, doesn't use canvas & is unorganized.

Albert likes to talk a lot in the class. He tends to stray off topic in class, but the workload is extremely easy. He also gives the opportunity for extra credit if you did not do well on the tests. Highly recommend taking english with him.

MR. Chan is by far one of the best professor, i have had the pleasure of taking class with. being not a native English speaker. It was hard for me to adjust to the environment. Mr. Chan made it easy and possible by speaking back and forth with me and making me do all the required essays

He's awkward. Talks a lot about random things that I zone out majority of the time. There are a lot of group discussions and presentations. A total of 3 papers, midterm, and final. You can tell he likes to teach, but you won't learn much in this class to be honest. It's sorta easy, but it really depends on the effort you put in.

This class was absolutely garbage. Mr. Chan does not know how to teach. He is a extremely awkward person that does not know when to stop talking. He gives handouts after handouts but does not clearly state when assignments are due. I would strongly recommend to not take a class from him no matter how convenient it might seem. Mr. Chan is a mess.

Comment:

Chan is a very awkward professor and he likes to make lame jokes. Although his class was very easy, he makes the worst discussion topics possible. All three big essays revolved around the topic of education. Even though education is a broad topic, all our essays sound redundant and repetitive because of it.

Comment:

You can tell Professor Chan has a passion for teaching English, but he is super disorganized. I recommend to keep everything that he gives you in one folder until the end, bcus he asks for things that you worked on the first day of class in the middle of the school year. There are also a ton of group presentations; BEWARE. 3 Major papers aswell!

Mr. Chan is an awkward funny guy! There was on 3 test that we took: midterm 1&2 and final. I don't think my writing improved in his class but he is an okay teacher. You will always have group discussions and will share it with the whole class what you discussed. I personally wouldn't take his class again but some people like his teaching style.

professor chan has an interesting sense of humor and hes really enthusiastic. you read two books, write three essays, one midterm, his quizzes are basically checking that you brought your books. he grades pretty easy as long as you followed the essay instructions and actually revise your drafts. overall, not a bad teacher

Professor Chan is amazing! He's so open-minded! He doesn't care if you're conservative or liberal. He's so bubbly and enthusiastic! You will seriously fall in love with how animated he is! He's definitely strict on attendance, but he's a very lenient grader. He forces you to talk, so be prepared!

Basically all you have to do is write 3 essays and take 2 exams (midterm&final) to pass. He gives helpful feedback on your drafts. Don't bother buying the books, just borrow them at the library. He's a decent teacher but after he gives an assignment that requires focus (like reading) he likes to ramble. A lot. While no one's listening.

Chan does a pretty decent job in explaining what he expects and most of his class involves group work. He often goes around asking students whether or not they have questions or need help. A lot of students actually go up to him and ask for help and he may show signs of annoyance at times.

BEST TEACHER EVER. Take this class I guaranteed you will pass and it's easier than more than any teacher. No other english teacher in Chabot will be easier than him. I took English 102 and English 1A, I regret that I didn't take his English 7. Or else I will have 3 A's in a row.

Comment:

Strict with attendence. If you are late for 6 hours, you can write a response for anything about the book then he will give you 1 hour extra credit per page. For essays and midterms, just follow instruction and say something related to topic, and you will expect an A. Only way to get B+ for essay is turning it late or you did not write enough words
