Comment:

Prof. Hart was a great teacher. She grades according to your effort and over time, your improvement. Everything she taught she had us put to use and gave us great (and honest) feedback. The only reason anybody should get a bad grade in this class is if they turned in late homework or just didn't turn it in at all. HOMEWORK IS VERY IMPORTANT. :)

Comment:

Each class she goes around the room and sits in your seat to see the subject from your point of view and makes the corrections needed. Super insightful and can point out the things you do wrong with very little need for an explanation since she has a way of explaining conceptually and on the page. I very much so recommend her.

Comment:

Professor gave a lot of specific individual feedback but also held you accountable for not making the same mistakes over and over again. I went in with no drawing experience and got a D on one of my first assignments, but was able to turn it around and made some pieces that I'm very proud of.

Excellent Instructor, dynamic class, fascinating assignments, with plenty of class time to work on assignments. Many inspiring reference texts and periodicals available for use during class. I wish I could take this class again, but no longer allowed to repeat classes passed with good grade.

Very Nice Instructor. Listening to her advice is very helpful with your success. I recommend using it. There are many projects that help you learn to be creative. put in effort and it will be noticed. I highly recommend taking her. All good things to say about her. And attendance is helpful. use class time come up with ideas for your work.

Great teacher. I never knew I could draw until I took her class. She brought out a skill or talent in every student. I took her class last Summer and to this day I look at my drawings and remember what a great experience I had in her class. She's a very talented art teacher.

Aleris is a really good teacher. Even if you just need this class for credits you will end up enjoying this class while improving your drawing skills. Sometimes she is unclear with her directions but just ASK! She is super understanding, and will take all the time required to help you if you are struggling. She has good critique also.

She was nice but at the beginning of the semester she asked me what my major was, and she said "it's obviously not art" ouch. She's helpful but says stuff without realizing it may be offensive to others. I learned a lot and really improved from her though.

Prof. Hart was a very knowledgeable and easy-going teacher. She was very good at giving helpful advice to all the students and graded assignments more on improvement than talent. I would definitely recommend her to any art majors (like me) and take her again if given the opportunity.

Prof. Hart was great. She was super helpful, involved, knowledgeable, and she graded very fairly: based on effort and personal improvement rather than talent. She came to expect more from those that she saw were excelling--but she didnt push down students that were struggling; anyone who did the work got a B at least. I learned a LOT from her

I think if you start the class really not good at drawign at all, you can get a B by just trying- even if it's not too good, as long as you try. But if it's good and you follow instructions, it's easy to get an A. She's very passionate about teaching, always helping you.

Aleris is a wonderful teacher and this class was very enjoyable. She is fair, and grades you based on effort and not just talent. You can learn so much from this class even if you aren't an Art student. Her lectures are interesting and the assignments challenging and fun.
