I'm taking SILA 305 with Mrs. Lennert right now. She's very funny and constructive; if you're signing something wrong, she'll get your attention and correct you. In addition, if you're not sure how to sign something, she's always willing to help. The textbook is online so you need access to internet to complete the homework and practice the vocab.

Get on her good side to start with or you'll be in for a long semester. She's not good at any extra communication you try to have with her. She will tell you to email her if you try to talk to her after/before class/during free time in class but then she take's a long time to reply and isn't clear with responses. Homework graded by completion.

I was a little wary of her at first, you WILL get docked every time you talk in class and she wont let you know so dont be surprised if you are -1 in participation- its because she saw you talking! She is deaf so she really understands and immerses you into deaf culture. Hw is graded on completion. Get to know her and she is a funny great lady!!

I had ML for 1-3. If you are looking to really learn ASL I recommend her. She does an amazing job at truly immersing you. I recommend getting on her good side from the very beginning. Do not talk in class because not only will she dock you points, it is extremely disrespectful. In ASL 3 you get to know her better as a person and it's a fun class.

I really loved having Professor Lennert because she is an amazing Sign Language Professor. She has helped me with singing correctly and I would love to have her as my professor again. Professor Lennert does assign homework but the homework that she gives you is very easy. Professor Lennert is hands down the best Prof I have ever had.

This is the 3rd ASL class (SILA 305.306, now 315) I have had ML for. By far the hardest but was so worth it. By the end of the semester, it is easier. Small class, lots of interaction and real-world conversation with ML; everything is done in front of or with your fellow classmates. She does not teach SILA 316 at FLC so this is it. I will miss her.

ML teaches sign language in such a way that forces you to participate and learn. She makes class enjoyable with her humor. The class is easy to pass so long as you show up, bring your textbook, do your homework, and practice for the exams. ML taught us a lot about deaf culture, which showed us how passionate she is about ASL. Amazing professor!

She is honestly an amazing teacher, she teaches the class really well. However you do have to be dedicated and motivated to be in this class. It can be worth it- personally I did not work as hard as I should have, so I was confused as times. As long as you pay attention and do your homework correctly, you should be perfectly fine :)

One of my favorite teachers. Very caring. Deaf and class is Audism-free space. Don't talk in class, its rude and you will lose points. You can make up some points by participation. Attend, do not be late, bring your textbook always, do homework, practice for tests and you will do fine. Communication with ML is vital for success. Read the syllabus.

ML is a wonderful professor, she shows true interest in her students and shares the Deaf culture with a passion. She is helpful and kind when teaching ASL too. Be sure to attend your Deaf events, complete your homework, and don't talk in class, every point counts.

Horrible teacher. She did not go by her syllabus one bit and flew through the book. We ended up having to print and use the ASL 2 book because we finished ASL 1 two months early. Besides never knowing what the class is or consists of it ended up being an easy A. Show up and sit through the miserable quiet two hours and do all hw to pass.

I absolutely loved ML. She is a fantastic teacher and the class was extremely fun and worth taking. It is a language class so missing a day of class can be a problem since each class you learn something new. Its not like a speaking language where you can look it up online, you need to witness and be present to really learn. Tests are easy too!

She's a terrible teacher. I hate her. She doesn't grade properly and takes weeks to update D2L. She will take points off without telling you and really is just an awful person in general.

She is a really great teacher. It's amazing how well she can communicate even though she's deaf. If you don't know how to sign a question to her, she doesn't mind if you write it down. She doesn't waste your time in class. I would love to take this class again. Exams are a combination of written and meeting her in her office or classroom to sign.

Loved her class. Do the homework, do well on tests and you will pass no problem. Study outside of class (essential to passing-it is a language) I would recommend to take with a friend or exchange numbers with someone in class to communicate- if for some reason you have to miss. 2 deaf events are part of grade but I didn't do them and still got an A

I took her for ASL 1 and now 2 and both times she is great. I feel like ASL 1 was harder then ASL 2. In 2 we rehash a lot of what we learned in 1 but we just tell it in a story form more. But either way she is awesome, funny, helpful, and the class is actually fun. Take ASL if you need a easy language to learn or if it seems interesting.

ML is a great teacher and I really enjoyed her ASL 1 class. She brought humor to her lectures and made learning a new language fun and interesting! I would encourage students to make every effort to participate in class. If students skip class, it is very difficult to catch up and you begin to lose points quickly. Great Class and teacher!

I had ML in SILA 1. She's deaf and is a good teacher. But if you are deaf and wears hearing aids andor cochlear implants, DO NOT MENTION THAT TO ML. She is against oral deaf community and I learned that in a very hard way. Other than that, ML teaches well and you have to work for grade A.
