Need the textbook for HW which there is A LOT of, 2 midterms and final which were difficult imo. Tests include some proofs. He tries to explain the concepts behind the equations in an effort to help the students understand what's going on. He's a long-winded when answering questions and doesn't give a lot of examples which sucks

He is such a bad teacher. He has ADD to the max, youll ask a question, he will attempt to answer it but then wander off. Dont waste your time. He gets caught up in taking about his band and music so frequently, I cannot say it was a math class. No partial credit, on an exam, your answer could be right, but have the wrong sign, 2 out of 10 points.

3 Exams and a Final exam. Lots of homework to prepare you for the tests. However, he focuses a lot on proofs which are on the exams. DO LOTS OF STUDYING AND LOTS OF EXAMPLES. He doesn't really give study guides. Overall, great professor and a really tough course.

Dr. Agnew is a great professor! Hardest professor I've ever taken. His classes are make-or-break. There is no lagging it with this guy! But he's so caring! He truly wants to see his students succeed! He is very helpful and respects his students. I never felt dumb asking questions. Go to office hours! He's actually super chill!

I would only recommend taking him if you're a math major because that's how he treats all of his students. Focuses a lot of the class on proofs, more than any other professor. He's a tough grader and the exams are extremely hard. If you take him, be sure to go to his office and ask for help. It's no where near an easy A.

This is my second semester taking him. I took his 250B class Spring 2014. The reason I declared my math minor was because of him. He inspired me to further my math career and I am so glad that i kick started my math minor with him. He's a bit more lenient but he is still very tough. But you also still learn a lot from him.

FANTASTIC Proffesor. If you put in the work his class will make you a stronger student. Very helpful during office hours. Tests are not overly difficult but very long so make sure when you study to work on speed.

Without a doubt, the hardest math teacher in the school. Shows no mercy on his grading. People may complain that he's too hard, but it will only make you a better student. I can say that my math skills are now significantly better than when I first entered his class. If you want an easy A, don't take him. If you want life-long skills, take him.

Professor is extremely hard, every class exam average was below a 50%. Squeezes in 4 exams when other professors have 3. Doesn't curve!!!!. Just avoid at all costs, and I'm being completely serious. You will regret it if you take any math with this professor.

This prof is the hardest grader I have ever had! Even after doing 5 pages front and back of the homework, if one part was wrong you could easily fail that assignment. Hardest tests I have ever taken and NO CURVE

Okay. So this class was extremely hard and had a difficult adjusting the entire semester. He is a great professor but he also expect everyone to be geniuses. A very TOUGH GRADER. but ultimately does care about the student future education and does know the subject of calculus. Take his class, you will struggle and u have to put in the work.

He has someone in the front office sign for him when completing a drop class form. That should say A LOT. He's hard to understand. Tough class and tough professor. He's not helpful at all in his office hours. HW is overbearing. Expect to study 15-20hrs/wk to pass math 280. TOO MUCH for one class. Had to drop class after bombing the 1st exam.

He requires you to READ a section ahead in the text. If you do=lecture will be clear, if you don'= may be hard to follow concepts. Random quizzes are given based on the reading (so uncovered material) Tests are hard & almost impossible to rack up partial credit. To get complete credit answers should be as detailed as his examples.

This was his 1st semester teaching 280. Used the 350 book. Had low availability for office hrs. High expectations. I had to stop going because other classes were lacking my attention. Talked to (at least) 15 other ppl from this class who had to retake. Heard from some who stayed that about 7 showed up for the final. 280 tutors couldn't help.

Don't be fooled. Calculus is no easy subject but if you want a helpful teacher Prof. Agnew is your man. The tests are killers and are not curved but the homework helps that grade. The main problem was no one (not even me) was willing to leave their comfort zone to ask questions. I learned later that when I did have a question he would always help

I don't know why people say he is a good teacher! He is too hard and it is like he wants people to drop his class. Also he teaches stuff u don't even need to know! Oh the hmwk u do doesn't even help your grade because he just bases the class on 2 exams and the final! Crazy!

Extremely picky! Calculus (last semester) was never this hard, he goes over certain sections that aren't that important and wants you to do every problem exactly how he does it. If you dont then he will take off points and cause you to fail. Doesnt curve (only one in the math department that doesnt), and does not budge for any partial credit.AVOID

I agree with comment below me. Test was extremely difficult, goes through lectures incredibly fast and makes simple things sound very confusing because he tries to use all the fancy technical jargon. It's almost like he is just trying to show you how smart he is instead of trying to simplify it so you actually learn the material.

wow... exam 1 nothin like the homework and the study guide was misleading. Hes getting harder each year supposedly, he said he removed multi choice questions to add room for more questions.
