Comment:

Gives great explanations and brings in his real world experience into the class room to give insight on why the information is valuable. He is easy to talk to and is flexible with assignments and due dates. Demonstrates again and again that his focus is to help prepare students for real world careers in engineering. Highly recommend the class.

Comment:

Gates made my Statics class, which i thought would be difficult, to be bearable and interesting. The best thing about his teaching methods is he takes it nice and slow. We would sometimes go over a couple of problems step by step for the entire period, explaining every step so you don't get lost. Which is a real problem with some professors.

You'll learn alot and get your moneys' worth that is if his class isn't canceled or he shows up on time. good luck finding him if you need extra help or have question. They moved his office down with the other profs but hes never there cause he has that other job. Lectures worthwhile tho

Dynamics with Dr Gates was the most extraordinary class I've taken. His exemplary command of the subject distinguishes him as a stellar professor, deserving every accolade. He is the consummate pro in the Dept of Engineering. If he isn’t teaching Dynamics, wait until he’s scheduled to teach it, and prepare for brilliance of the highest order!!!!!

All I can say is wow. One of the best professors I've ever had, considering I've accumulated over 200 credits at this school. He knows his stuff and doesn't flaunt it with silly awards like the excellent teaching awards. He puts his focus on his students and not how many awards he achieves.

I have to say,he made ME 368 smooth as butter.The transition to the course was amazing, the material was fun and his teaching capabilities only made it better.He is a fair grader unlike some professors at CCSU such as Dr. Vasko as he takes points of for not writing the OBVIOUS!I mean Dr. Gates truly deserves the TEACHING EXCELLENCE award!

Dr. Gates is one of, if not the best, professor within the engineering department. His lectures are clear and concise. He is a fair grader. He also shows a genuine interest in the educational future of his students. I wish all professors were like him.

FEA with Dr Gates was the best class I have taken this semester! I highly recommend Gates for FEA since he is the leading industry expert in the field at CCSU Dept of Engineering. If Gates isnt teaching FEA for a semester, I would wait until he does!!!!

Dr.Gates, aka G-Dawg, is both a fine professor & master in subject matter. His profound knowledge leverages him to conduct both an informative and useful class. Dr.Gates teaches material and goes over egrng problems that WILL BE encountered in any engineering career, which is one of the most useful tools. Compared to Dr.Vasko, he proves superior.
