Comment:

The worst decision I have ever made was to take Digital Logic with this professor. He claims he is open to questions but acts like students are stupid for asking them. His tests are awful. You can pay attention in class but you won't learn anything. I taught myself simple methods to do some things in class but he got mad even though I got it right.

Claims to want the class to be question-based, but shoots down questions that he thinks are stupid and doesn't help people get to the correct answer when he asks a question, he just has them keep guessing until they get it exactly right. Enjoys berating people. Doesn't give many examples. Poor lecture slides. Do yourself a favor: don't take Hurson.

This guy should not be in academics. Very mean and biased. Your grade is independent of your performance. A Politician, who boasts his class as best and thinks he is funny but he is not. Stay away from this guy and his class. The most boring and useless class ever; complete waste of money.

One of the worst. His experience/knowldege for grad shool is terrible. He uses obsolete notes/examples. He misses ESSENTIAL fundamentals in CS: e.g. does not know NP completeness, claims to know db, but does not even know concurrency control alg. Everything is way too high level. I worked in industry-his teaching is worthless. Avoid him.

He was an AWESOME Prof!!! His slides are really good and make sense if u attend class. Also his system of a quiz be4 every class ensures u know the material long be4 the exams. He makes sure the class is very entertaining. He is one of the few ppl who is just meant to Teach!

He seems to be a smart guy, but the great thing is that he seems to care a lot about his students. He takes the time to learn people's names and is often available to answer questions. Highly recommended!

Hurson to me is second only to Coraor in being able to speak well, and he is more motivating and entertaining. Still, he likesss with people and his exams destroyed me. He likes to be tricky. He is notorious for reuse; I think obtaining his old exams, quizzes, and homeworks are a very wise move. You will not be prepared otherwise.

He might be a smart guy, but he shouldn't be a proff.He thinks he's funny, but he isn't...also when you go in his office and ask him for help...he confused me even more.His slides are somewhat confusing and when it comes to relating them to homeworks...oh boy i was so frustrated cuz they don't relate that much...and he doesn't even use the book :(

Dr. Hurson is a good lecturer, but he does not teach the correct curriculum. If you want to learn anything that may be useful in the future never take a class from him. He doesn't teach from a book and makes his slides up as he goes along. His idea of important material is not standard. Have fun learning useless material.

he uses slides to teach, very very boring lectures except when he picks on the class.. the class is difficult, he isnt cut out to be a prof. smart guy, but I dont pay money for this ****. (I dropped it, even though I could have gotten a good grade.)

Best professor in the department! Class is not easy, but he makes lectures very enjoyable. He is funny, and very easy to approach with a question or problem. Highly recommended.
