Transferring in I had to retake Calc 1 (even though I got an A in honors Calc at my other college, thanks Moco) this class was awful. I actually found myself having to plug my ears and close my eyes just so she wouldn't confuse me. if I hadn't already taken this class I would have failed. Do not take intro calc with Sevilla

Whoever wrote those mean comments obviously doesn't know how to open up their book. This is college. You are expected to do some independent work outside of the classroom. If you put in the time and effort, you don't need "god to have mercy on your soul." Sevilla always has her door open to explain. I never had a problem with her teaching methods.

Comment:

Sevilla is so nice and grades really fairly. She doesn't give too many quizes, doesn't collect/check homework, and gives partial credit. Sometimes it was hard to understand her because she has a strong accent. Her Calc class was hard, but I did pretty well. Be prepared to do a lot of teaching yourself though.

Assigns homework for material she didn't cover. Doesn't convey concepts well. Often loses her place during lectures. If you have her for a class, be ready to do the majority of learning on your own as she will either cover topics insufficiently or not at all. Consider waiting for a different professor to teach the class, if you can.

the worst math teacher i have ever had. Never thought i could fail math until now. I cant remember when was the last time i had below an A in math. if you ever want to force yourself to hate math take this class. and to who ever gets Sevilla as a professor by choice or not, i only have 4 words for you. GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL!!!

Had Dr. Sevilla for three math classes (171, 211, 220). She is a great teacher and such a nice woman. If you do the homework, you get a good grade. She is very willing to help after class. Hard to understand at first, but after two weeks, you hardly notice her accent. Favorite teacher at Moravian.

worst math teacher i ever had. i got an A in every math class i took in my life, i had to drop this class because she could not teach. do not take her class. her tests are really hard. had to try to teach myself material because it was impossible to pay attention to her. good luck if you end up with her.

nice lady and really helpful if you talk to her individually/outside of class...but her class as a whole is a joke. the kid who sits next to me calls people from his cellphone and puts them on speaker during her "lectures" and she doesn't do a thing. plus everyone is on facebook the whole time.

One of the worst teachers I have had. CANNOT understand a word she says. When she gets really involved in the problem, she mixes up her words. VERY confusing. Considering dropping class because she is so bad.

Extremely hard to understand. I got a C- in the class when I had straight A's my entire math career. Con't to the second part of the course i fell behind BADLY becuz i did not know the basics from her class. I got a D in calc 2. & i transfered from this terrible school and lost both credits. I blame this on sevilla

She is very hard to understand especially when she gets into what she is teaching. There wasn't really any required homework assignments but by not doing them you screw yourself. She tries to help if you ask but isn't really successful. The class overall seemed more like a waste of time than anything.

nicest, sweetest lady you will ever meet. extremely helpful if you go to her office hours. you can probably learn a lot in her class if you pay attention... which is extremely hard to do. she tends to talk to the board a lot.

She's awesome. Don't listen to the people that took Math 104 - that's math for people who fear math. Take Dr. Sevilla for an advanced mathematics course and you'll see how she shines. She was my advisor, and she gave me some truly brilliant advice on my academic life and my future career.

Eek. She may know her stuff, but good luck getting it out of her. She speaks softly and has a thick accent, making her lectures difficult to understand. She also made lots of mistakes doing basic math (4+5 doesn't equal 7, sorry Dr. Sevilla).
