Great professor, helpful reading and fair grading policy. Nice analyze on class, so just attend the class and recitation, and you will be fine.

Many students dislike her stutter/excessive use of "ums", but if you can get past that she is a wonderful woman. Her lectures are dry and get ready to read the textbook, but the class is an easy A because midterm and final are literally given to you in the review sheet and papers are short and easy. Recitation is mandatory and 30% of grade so go.

Not fair grading at all. You could write the most erudite essay in the world and she'll take off points, literally, for giving too many examples to support your argument, despite your not going over the page limit. Completely ridiculous. Oh, and she's horribly boring. Avoid like the plague.

She is very nice, but not a good lecturer. She is very educated in history and really knows what she is talking about but to be honest the content was very boring and so it was hard to pay attention in class. The lectures felt very long and I never paid attention. I did alright in the class because I went to her office hours. You should too.

Not a fan of history. Took it for SBC. Recitation is mandatory. Lectures are long and boring but have something to do with quizzes in recitation. All the questions on midterm and final are in the review sheet. Just get ready to read!!!

I took her HIS 101 class literally one of the easiest classes of my life. Recitation is mandatory but lectures aren't. I never went to class and barely went to recitation (definitely go its 30%) and got a B. Her two paperss are easy and so are her midterm and final. Literally the review sheet for final and midterm is whats on the test exactly.

Prof. Cooper posts her lecture ppts and recordings online, and they are very helpful when reviewing. Although her lectures aren't the most interesting ones, you might get bored. Every recitation you get a quiz, but they are easy, as long as you read the material and review the notes. Get Ready To READ.

Assigns readings for each class, two papers, and two tests. Her lectures consist of her posting an outline so you'll have to take notes. Attendance in mandatory and participation counts. Most likely you'll be learning most if not all of the material on your own. I would not recommend this class to anyone based on her less than ideal teaching style

Not only does she suck at teaching the material, she expects you to become an expert in it. The two papers we have to write are easy peasy. However, the midterms are too much about specifics. The "review" which is supposed to be helpful, is actually just her giving us "tips" including how long to spend on each question. Avoid at all costs

Prof. Cooper seems knowledgable of the subject material, and she is a pleasant person. However, in class, she was not a good public speaker and did not seem able to articulate concepts well. Consequently, the class lectures were quite wooden, and it was extremely difficult to maintain interest and attention.

She says umm a lot but she is extremely nice and will help you whenever you need it. The class is not difficult if you read and take good notes because she gives you the possible test questions well in advance

She's an ok teacher. I like history and her class isn't that hard. Only 2 papers and a midterm and final. Attendance mandatory. But like the other reviewers she's isn't that great of a public speaker so it is hard to understand her and follow her in the lectures. I got bored pretty easily because of that.

I have taken two classes with her, if there is recitation then attendance is mandatory but if there isnt then its not. Her test (midterm + final) SHE GIVES YOU THE QUESTIONS BEFOREHAND!!! When she gives you essay questions she will always give you min 2/3 of the 3 essay choices she gives you beforehand on the real test.

Ummm soo umm dont take this class if you can't stand when ppl say umm. She says it at least 200times a class. She's teaching environmental history but she couldn't explain the dust bowl. No science background. She makes you read articles that don't make since and then can't explain them well. Basically if you can - stay away

Science and Tech in West Civ I. Attendance was not mandatory but was really necessary to do well. Text reading was very minimal compared to other history classes and really supplementary. There was a very short paper based on prim sources and 2 exams. These were a bit too long but fairly graded. Lectures are boring but broken up w/ group activities

I would not recommend any classes for her. Class is extremely boring, basically the midterm/final is based on reading articles that don't make sense, she says umm every other word, shes a nice lady just SO boring and her class is HARD. only take it if youre a history major

Worst professor I have EVER had--grad or undergrad. Rambled, devisive, and had a weird double-standard... "easy" on some students "hard" on others. Not enough classroom interaction between students and too much discussion about breaktime snacks! Horrible. DON'T TAKE ANY OF HER GRAD CLASSES!!!

Terrible doesn't begin to describe the Cooper experience. She needs to take some speech classes and actually read what she assigns. I remember asking her questions about one of the articles and she tried to b.s. but to no avail. I don't recommend this professor unless you want to play on your laptop during class. Otherwise... good luck!
