She is one tough teacher. If you have a question, she'll direct you to the expensive online program you have to use to figure it out yourself. You have to do A LOT of extra work if you want to get an A. She wants you to put effort into your studying and participate during class, otherwise she can come off as grouchy. She's not all bad

The material of the class was not difficult it was her clarity. She was very unspecific when it came to what you did wrong in tests or homework. I would go in early to her "office hours" where she did not answer any questions I had and told me to look online. If you're looking for a helpful, clear, and useful teacher do NOT take her.

the worst teacher i have ever had in my life. no questions. class started with 35 and ended with 7 b/c everyone else failed out. too lazy to grade our hw so she makes us do it online (almost every weekend there was hw due at midnight on saturday) shes the type of teacher who enjoys watching her students suffer. trust me dont take this class

TERRIBLE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. ALL THE OTHER COMMENTS PRETTY MUCH SAY IT. SHE IS INSANE. DO NOT TAKE, JUST TERRIBLE. If anything, try to take the math comp. exam which costs $25. No one will tell you about it, but ask the dept. chair. if u pass, no math requirement

The icy feeling in my heart serves as a daily reminder that this woman is still living. The idea of her makes me want to cry as I sit in my dorm preparing to go to math class... I sure hate math, but now I really hate it.

Sure, it may just be college algebra, but this woman is one ****... She's entertaining to watch, and she tries to be funny... which she isn't, but she manages to make the 80 minutes of class a direct sense of Hell... and her inability to teach makes a calculus student more appropriate for my online homework assistance. She needs to retire.

Dont take this class. Prof. Knappen is senile and is told old to be teaching.Her tests have stuff on them that she never taught and she never curved anything. However HW is a fairly big portion of the grade and most of it is online so its still possible to get a b or a in the class if u do all the HW. Despite this i would still avoid this class.

Lots of online homework. Nice lady, not so good of a teacher. Very confusing. Lots of online homework. I had friends in calc. 1 tell me my homework was harder than anything they had to do. She cracks terrible jokes and takes attendance every class. Avoid taking her class at all costs.

She is very strict, and has homework requirements that are riduculous. She only lets the students use one side of a peice of paper for homework. Her reasoning is you don't use the back side of paper for english so math should have the same standards.

Knappen is truly one of a kind and hard to take her mean demeanor seriously considering she's a little old lady. Class is amusing on some level(me and my roommate just messed with her the entire semester). If you have to take her buy a TI-89 and cheat on all the online quizzes and tests(45% of grade)and try to sneak the 89 in during tests.

she is the devil! worst teacher i have ever had stay away from her if you can. she give lots of homework and quizes and there is no room for error in her class. her tests are MUCH harder then anything she teacher in class and her tests are too long to complete withing the given class time, and if you do finish its at the very last minute

Extremely rude. Has no respect for her students.. thinks she's the**** even though she messes up on almost all of her example problems. DO NOT take her. Coursework is primarily online...she has no mercy when these assignments get messed up because of internet connection. Do not waste your time with her.

All the homeworks are done online through math lab which I don't particularly like. Coming to her office hours is useless, she does not really explain or answer the questions you pose. She can be sweet, but for the most part she's full of sarcasm.

She is a wicked witch sent from the past to make sure children stay at the University of San Diego. No person ever gets an A, your lucky just to pass. Take it pass/fail and struggle or take a D and say F U TO her and leave.
