The class is actually super easy. I can't overstate how easy this class actually is. There is very very little homework and the midterm and final are super easy as long as you study for a few hours. The class is very traditional/lecture based but he made his own textbook which has all you need to know for an A. Overall I highly recommend him.

Great guy! HORRIBLE PEDAGOGY! All he does is talk from his desk. His teaching style does not serve all learning styles! Tests/assignments are UNCLEAR! I read the book, met with him and managed to get a C. Dont waste your time. Heavily based on politics, so if you dont keep up with politics you are going to have trouble understanding the topics!

I learned so much. However, taking notes was challenging. Few assignments and He goes thru the topic several times before an assignment is due plus he asks for a rough draft then give you feed back before he gives you a final grade and if your not happy with the grade you can re do it. This applies to the midterm also. Red tickets are a must!

One of my favorite professors so far. Not an easy class at all, but if you really try it will be a very rewarding class. Take advantage of the rough draft opportunities and his office hours. Be sure to study for the tests, he can be a tough grader. I also wish his lectures were more structured and not all over the place.

No homework assignments, exams are very hard and not easily understood. He skips around a lot while taking notes and isnt clear. He is a good man tho, he is very funny but I wouldnt recommend this class.

Nice guy tough grader. Don't expect an easy A. If he doesn't like a way you word something you will get marked down. Tests are not easy.

So i took his summer class and i don't recommend it at all. He's definitely a good guy but i couldn't synch with his ways of teachings. I did amazing on my speeches but i felt like his lectures didn't align with the quizes at all, and believe me i took plenty of notes. Unfortunately the quizes brought my grade down a lot and ended up with a C.

Comment:
I took this course in the summer it was stressful! Lectures are long and boring. He expects you to know the answers to his quizzes because they're lecture based so not all the answers will be in the notes. So you have to take good notes. He has high expectations for the outcome of speeches. My opinion I don't recommend you to take this professor.

Speech class can be hard because most of us try to avoid public speaking, but are force to do it because its required. This professor is pretty great, he prepares you to give great speeches. He tells you what he expects but doesn't really help you organize it on paper. He goes really fast on his lectures and his exams can be a challenge

A self defense class for the mind, this is by far the most difficult course I have taken so far. If you're there to actually learn and not BS around, this class will challenge you. Professor McKissick is an excellent, impartial and knowledgable teacher. I'd recommend his class to to those who want to fight for logic, and against propaganda.

Allan McKissick is a great professor. Communicate with him and he's happy to help. Can be a little fast in class with lectures but he goes over and over everything and encourages his student to ask questions. He doesn't assign too much HW, and has few tests. I really recommend making flash cards.

If you try to learn in this class, you will. I made some friends the first day and that's part of what made the class so fun. McKissick likes to hear himself talk and is a pretty funny guy. Buy the book, do the speeches, do extra credit. The tests are online, so having the book, class notes, and handouts for the unit will ensure a good grade.

A communication/speech class is supposed to be about giving speeches and this really isn't what took place. This class was ridiculous with the amounts of notes you have to take along with the quizzes that made no sense. Take a different teacher if I can give you any advice! Don't make the mistake that I did. This class will make you loose your mind

Do your homework, participate in class, do the reading, and you'll be fine. His Argumentation class is the most rewarding courses I have ever taken. Do not take his sass personally; check your ego at the door. If he singles you out, he's trying to guide your thinking so you come to your own conclusions. The class is what you make of it.

I absolutely loved taking his argumentation class. It can be tough, as he expects a lot from you. However, the syllabus says exactly what will be on the midterm and final and there are tons of extra credit opportunities. He also lets you redo homework and the midterm to try for a higher grade. I would definitely take his class again.

His class is okay. The lectures are kind of all over the place, he does not follow a syllabus, it's kind of like, whatever he thinks of that day will be lecture. He singles out people and is purposely mean to them, which is pretty messed up. Tests are hard, he's a tough grader. He allows for redoing assignments, but makes it hard for you.
