Comment:

Prof Renga is wonderful! He is clear on what he wants from assignments and lets you turn in assignments late (with deduction) if you need to. I took his 8 week class so there's a lot of reading with 2 chapters and 2 discussion boards a week. However, he makes it fun with the topics and the content of the material is really interesting! Take him!

Professor Renga was awesome. The class was easy, I learned and he was easy to get a hold of for questions. He gives extra credit and seems like he cares about his students. He was a little bit of a goob but in the best way! He tried to make the class fun. I would take his class again.

Comment:

I enjoyed taking Professor Renga's online history class. He gives one homework assignment a week. For tests, there are two midterms and one final all short answers. The textbook is online so no need to buy one. Professor Renga responds to emails quickly and he gives great feedback on assignments. I highly recommend taking this class with Renga!

Wonderful Professor. Took him as a GE course and actually learned a lot about history. Workload is not bad, I was taking 18+ units and got an A. For exams be specific and detailed-there are short answers and small essay questions. Short weekly discussion posts and that is it!

Amazing teacher! Many easy extra credit opportunities and easy to learn lectures. He makes the 3 hour class a comfortable learning environment. Wish more teachers were like him. Just as long as u take good notes and study well before each test, its an easy A.

Took his eight week course. He makes the class interesting and fun. Straightforward. Get the "easy" inclass-participation points. Make sure to study the study guide. The essay questions all come from topics he is covering in class. If you attend class and take the notes you should get an A. Would take him again.

Great 8 week course! Straight forward and enjoyable, good attitude and concise. Lecture notes and study guides up on blackboard. Teaches with multiple styles of effective instruction. Not too heavy on the liberal BS. Good balance of multiple choice and essay questions. Rewards with points for active participation. Be there and have fun for an A.

I took him for the 8 week course, and he made class so much fun! He is always there to help with any questions, and he makes the class super fun. He always has students participating in class, and it is never boring. Awesome professor. Can't wait to take 109 with him!

I took him for the 8 week course & he is such an amazing teacher. He provides a lot of help & he wants all his students to pass. If you don't pass this class with an A, there's something wrong with you. There is 3 take home quizzes, 2 easy midterms, & 1 final. Also, up too 100 participation points. Very fun and easy class, I enjoyed it a lot.

The easiest class ever! He gives you a lot of points for just being in the class. Take home quizzes actually helped me understand the material. more than 50% of the class was international students. Just attend the class, study before exams, and do your homework and you'll get an A

I took Renga for Hist 108 and 109. Great professor, super easy class, really funny guy. You do need to attend class as you get 5 participation pts each week that are usually based on attendance. A lot of take-home tests and quizzes. Book is not necessary if you know US history generally; he provides extensive notes on blackboard. Won't regret it.

Comment:

SO many presidents to remember, including dates and political affiliations of EACH one. This class requires a pretty high English level, so it will be difficult for many international students. (You're not allowed to use a dictionary during the test.) Many quizzes, so study in between classes, or you won't get a good grade; Required course, sorry!
