Comment:

I had Ana for Physics I, II, and III. A very good teacher, fun labs, and has detailed lectures. Isn't an easy A or an easy grader especially for Lab reports, for good reason. She will help you develop good habits that you need to succeed. This material is challenging, but not impossible. Don't mistake her being tough with the material being tough.

Comment:

Ana is a great teacher who loves what she does and wants you to do well. However, the classes and material are really tough. You have to attend class in order to understand the material. With effort, she is easier and more understanding. The test are extremely hard and you must study. Labs saved my grade. I got an A in 123 and a C in 124.

I am a very hard working student but Ana really made me work for the A, I have to admit that she really made me have a deeper understanding of the material. she is not the most helpful professor and her exams are tough. USE OLD TESTS!!!

Her accent is thick and is difficult to understand sometimes. Her lectures are long and all she does is go over how the equations were derived. Her examples take forever and don't appear to be like anything on the exam. She gives us a formula sheet but the variables aren't labeled and she doesn't goes over when to use what formulas for problems.

Ana is a good professor. She knows her stuff, but won't give you an answer to your question. She forces you to think differently and figure it out. Take the exams seriously, if you mess up on one your chances for an A dramatically decrease. DO all the recommended homework problems and you will do fine.

Dr. Mazilu is the weekly tutor for physics for the NSF program, she really helped clear up some things for me that I didn't understand from Mrs. Gateva's lectures. I did not have Dr. Mazilu for the class but from working with her week to week I would love to take Physics II with her.

She is an "eh" teacher. Only real deal breaker with her is, the class C is a 64 sooo failing is tad bit harder lol. After the first few weeks you can tell she likes the student that smashes there face into the physics book, an is consistent with coming for help, if you're not this student she "MAY" seem to have something against you. Seen it happen

Absolutely dreadful teacher. The first week she is very nice and says that it is so easy, of course. She said she drops a test and a 65% us a C-. This sounded great and like it would be fine. But she is not nice at all. Does not help with anything. All she says is "look at your notes" well OBVIOUSLY! She makes you feel stupid when you ask questions

I had Ana for the full Physics sequence. 123, 124, & 221. I transferred these to UIUC which equates out to PHYS 211, 212, 213, and 214. Ana is a great teacher and always helpful and available during Officer Hours which I attended a lot. Work hard and you will receive a good grade. Since the classes are required, at least the professor is awesome!

I love her!! She is very nice to everyone and tries to help them a lot. Her tests are not hard if you review all the problems we did in class cuz she always provides similar ones. One thing i hated is that she talks A LOT so lectures are boring.

Physics can be difficult, but a teacher can only do so much. That being said, Dr. Mazilu is a great teacher! I go to her office hours a couple times a week and she gives ample guidance. She is kind and cares about students. She is true to grading though, she gives you the grade you get, nothing else!

Ana is a little long winded. Her voice/accent make her hard to understand at times. Physics is a very hard class though. She goes out of her way to grade fairly and throws Ex. Credit our way during the semester. She doesn't really slow her pace though, which can be hard for students at time. I personally think shes done a fair job for this subjt.
