I took three classes from Dr. Perez over 25 years ago. Since then, I've used the perspectives he taught every day. It's not how hard or easy his class is but the long term affects he has on you. He's a great resource: Don't squander your interaction with him. He's very personable and will give you keen insights if you let him.

very cool! shows a little bit of his own biases, but doesnt look down on you for sharing yours. dedicated teacher, loves the subject so he's very passionate, and is very helpful in his grading, just study hard for exams and you will be fine!

The class isn't that hard but he is rude and has an attitude. He also spends most of the time talking about stuff not related to the subject. There are 2 essay question tests and a gordon rule assignment. If you are good at memorizing info then you won't have a problem with the tests.

Took online class. He is a great teacher and very nice. However, I cannot stand his tests. They are essay-based, not multiple choice. I pulled an A but I worked my butt off to get it. For all those people who say this is an easy class, they must be smoking crack.

He's a really sweet man and very passionate about his favorite subject. Too bad it wasn't the one he was supposed to be teaching. Reviews and directions were very unclear. It's an easy A, just don't expect to learn a whole lot.

Mr. Perez's class was great. His assignments seem overwhelming at first. But his grading system seems to be that if you turn the assignment in or if you looked as if you had tried.....then you got an A.....if you did a horrible job, then you got a B. Take him for Am History, you won't regret it!!

He is the BEST. Everyone should have his class! It was an online course so we only met five times (On Saturdays at 8 AM!) but I wish we had met more than that because he is awesome. Take this class right away and see how cool this guy is.

Dr. Angelo Perez is a class act! He is a true Tampa historian and is passionate about the material that he teaches. He intends to help his students succeed. The telecourse is acceptable and requires minimal work. I recommend taking Dr. Perez in a regular class setting if it is offered.

I took this class in 1995 and he said then that he was retiring very soon. Hmmmm 10 years later and he's still teaching...lol...He's a great story teller though, glad he's stuck around to tell more of his stories! Knows everything about Ybor city history, great guy!
