I took her online class. It was pathetic & I've had some poor professors. Everything is straight from the cengagebrain or other website; including the powerpoints, didn't even bother removing their instructions to the professor slide. Only the comments on the discussion board are her own; yet she gets paid for an entire course. Easy if ur fast m/c.

Instructor is an outstanding, excellent one. She is very knowledgeable in the materials she teaches. Her homework assignments truly will cause you to learn the materials. She is always very helpful and answers your questions with clarity. Her course materials are outstanding as well. Truly an OUTSTANDING and EXCELLENT instructor.

I had to spend hours every day with the textbook. The tests were very fair because they were straight out of the book. Although I did very well in the class, I felt very unsupported by this teacher and by the setup of this class. I could have just read the book rather than taking this class. I will avoid this teacher.

Comment:

Organization of class assignments feels unorganized. If you take the course online as I did, expect to work on your own and read what is required. Expect to read and be know about Coldfusion...a dying technology. I did fine in the class but I pretty much taught myself via the book. Overall, I expected a better experience.

All online classes with no in class face to face. The powerpoint lectures seem like print outs of the text book difficult to understand and technical stuff. BETTER ATTEND A LIVE CLASS WITH ANOTHER LECTURER.

I might as well have read the book the entire semester, rather than taking this class. The lectures are taken straight from the book, the instructor is absentee- most student questions were answered by other students! This class was all about busywork. If you want an easy 'A', take this class. If you want a challenge, go elsewhere.

Poor Quality, especially her online class. She seems she doesn't care the class at all. she just tells us " read chapter this and that" that's all she is doing for the whole semester. If a student ask for help, she simply says " read the instruction" or " post your question at Etudes". That's all.

This online class put me down, The teacher never tell you what are your mistakes, if you have problems installing Oracle in your machine or have questions she will point you to a web page.(in my case this didn't help me)I installed oracle many times before I made it work by myself. If your language is not English I won recommend you this class.

The class experience is almost bizarre, and not in a good way. This instructor either doesn't understand how to use the Etudes web site or doesn't care. Lab and test questions are poorly written, and spelling and grammatical mistakes are common. Disallowing the review of completed labs and tests is counterproductive and totally unhelpful.

The worst online classes I have ever taken. The instructor barely participates in the class discussions -- student to student help only. Course materials haven't been updated in ages. None of the assignments (lab or tests) are returned -- you get a grade without knowing why. Buy the book and study on your own, it will be less painful.

PHP/MySQL online: Terrible! Instructor takes little meaningful part in online discussions-questions are basically answered by the students, with entire threads lacking her support. Lecture material is incomplete- I had to google relevant material in order to complete assignments, which are graded and returned with ZERO feedback! Avoid.

I had a difficult time in this online class. I had trouble installing oracle software on my mac. Other than that, the coursework was pretty clear and easy to understand. The teacher is very nice and does her best to answer questions. I would recommend taking this course AFTER sorting out how to run oracle on your computer.

She is the worst online instructor I've ever had. She expects one to read the textbook, and get help from fellow students. There was no participation from her in all of this. I would have wanted to take the Oracle SQL but have to give it up since she's teaching it. I don't know how the department hired her, or check up on her qualification.

I recommend this class for a first time programming class. Its true its mostly self study, but the book she is using now "Sams Teach Yourself PHP, MySQL and Apache All in One" is a good book, and PHP is such an easy language that you wont get stuck.

Comment:

PHP/MySQL online (2009 W). Your experience will depend a lot on your fellow students. The instructor gave 3 programming assignments & 2 exams but added little to the discussions. A good textbook is critical as well as the self-discipline to keep up with the readings. If you are not able to install & configure PHP/MySQL on your own, get help ASAP.
