Joke of a teacher when I took him. He was not very helpful at all, offered no office hours (other than by appointment), and had a habit of giving pop quizzes with content not in his lectures or in the book. It's very possible to do everything he assigns, read all the chapters of the book, and still get a D. I got an A- in chem elsewhere.

Albert is a really harsh/unreasonable grader and his tests are very difficult. Pop quizzes at least once a week and they are hard.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. Seriously. I was told by everyone who knew him to drop him as soon as a I possibly could, but I didn't and this has been the worst semester of my life. His tests are incredibly hard and he tries his best to confuse you. I've never met a professor who likes to see his students fail, but he does. Just save yourself the time.

No. Just, no. Crude remarks towards the class. Inappropriate comments towards female students. Takes pride in his difficult test and attempts to make them harder. Pop quizzes are conceptual. Unreasonable grader. Deducts points if he doesn't like your work even if you got the right answer. Past retirement. Do not recommend to anyone. Rarely gives A.

Very hard teacher that isn't willing to help. He tells me that he has already answered the question whenever I asked him a question. He has extremely hard tests that are written and are 9 pages. He has pop quizzes regularly which are hard and are worth a lot of points. I was going for an A and I dropped later in the semester so I can get an A later

Decently nice person except when you ask for help during labs. He's one of those old school prof who like to beat up students with ridiculously hard tests. Lectures are all over the place, breezing over concepts. Gave this guy the benefit of the doubt but like others have said, DO NOT take this guy if you care about learning and your grade.

He doesn't use the book or lab manual, so don't buy them. You can use an older chem book for reference. He's pretty detailed on notes, and honestly, if you have half a brain, he's not that difficult. I ended up with a B as I had to miss a few classes, but he was pretty gracious about not dropping me. Study & attend class and you will be just fine.

He is a good professor. In order to pass his class, you need to study ahead by reading the text book before entering the class. Furthermore, do the questions provided in the text book in order to answer his exam question. Make sure to take his quiz seriously because the questions in exam are similar to the quiz.

He is does not prepare you for the exams he makes. His questions are unclear. His labs and questions are not clear. When you ask him a question he does not seem very helpful with answering what you need help with.

I would be lying if I said I did not learn a lot from Dr. Albert. That being said, this class was ridiculous. He tries to trick you with a lot of test questions. Grades very strictly on labs (You will lose 10 points if your final answer is a little off even if your work is done right). Chem departmet switched from Chang to Tro book for our semester, but his course never really adjusted to follow our new book. No study guides or suggested problems to study fromsostudyingfrom thebookwasdifficult

If you don't care about your GPA this class is fine. He knows how to teach, but he doesn't know how to test. Every quiz is random so you can never miss a class. Every test has essay questions that are ambiguous and impossible. Treats people like they're stupid for asking questions. Makes inappropriate jokes. No review sheets for the tests or final.

took AP chem in high school and this course is 50x harder because prof albert DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH and DOES NOT PREPARE YOU FOR THE TEST... gave him a chance after reading the reviews. Now i regret it horribly... avoid at all costs... (i got a B in his class btw, was aiming for an A)

He is honestly the best chem teacher i've ever had! Although, this isn't an easy A class, he knows his stuff and I enjoyed being in his class. He is a sweet man and people need to understand that he is actually a great teacher!

I think if you study the material real hard, his tests are very doable. He is a really tough lab grader. This part I hated. Not sure why he has to take points off for an answer that is .01 off. Also he gives pop up quizes so you stay on top of the material. I really didn't like this either because it takes a while to learn the material. Need time.

LEAVE NOW. WORST teacher. Does not explain vocab, takes off unnecessary points because he WANTS you to fail, cracks jokes about girls like wtf, makes you feel dumb for asking a question (that he doesn't even answer). Drop with a W > enduring one more second of his class.

This professor takes self-learning to a whole new level. In essence, he does almost no teaching, and then tests you over material he's barely mentioned, let alone explained. You have to figure everything out yourself with little to no help from him. What he should learn: don't be a teacher if you hate teaching.
