This class was not very difficult. There were only essay tests and essays. The essay test questions were given before the test, so there was time to prepare. However, I did not learn anything from the lecture. He tends to get off topic often, and I had to read the book to get the answers for the material.

Took this over Winter Break. Courseload itself was fine, five essays about 2.5-3 pages each over the span of the course and no exam. However, he would often post invalid links for Youtube Documentaries and not give us the correct link until the day an essay about it was due that night. Additionally, unresponsive to emails during last days of class

Cheeseboro is a very smart individual who knows his content very well. However many of his flaws come from his ability to teach. YT Documentaries and google are a go to for him. Minimal utilization of blackboard, unclear requirements, and irregular attendance on his behalf all make it difficult to take anything away from his class.

Professor Cheeseboro is a good professor, he uses a lot of YouTube and movies to teach. Read the chapters, write papers on the chapters. Gives study guide for exams, learn that and you will get an A.

I had to take HIST 201B for my major. If you dont care to learn about history, definitely take him. We had 3 tests and he drops the lowest one. The final was optional. He ended up losing grades and gave everyone in the class an A. If you actually want to learn anything, dont take him. I learned nothing, skipped class a lot, and easily got an A.

I was really disappointed how heavily he relied on YT documentaries. If I wanted to watch YT, I could save my money and do it at home. He's an easy A, doesn't really expect anything from students, etc. If that's what you want in a prof., he's your man.

I took the online Winter course for his class. The class was easy to understand but be aware of watching a few hour long documentaries for a specific subject and you read very long chapters along with writing 5 essays. The parts that you are unsure about in the book he will go over in the lecture. Definitely recommend taking it over the Winter!

I enjoyed both of Dr. Cheeseboro's History of Africa courses (352A & B). The amount you learn is up to you. He'll point you in the right direction and give you minimum standards to complete, but the rest is up to you. I would take Dr. Cheeseboro again if he taught any other courses.

He's a specialist in African history but clearly not on American history. He had to use wikipedia every class in order to get dates and events correctly. He would come to class about 10 minutes late every time. The class is super easy, but I learned more in my 4th grade history class.

Dr. Cheeseboro knows his Africa! Having spent significant time on the continent, his life experience there transfers well to the classroom and brings the material he discusses to life. Casually professional. Appears disorganized at times, but in a course that is compressed due to the short summer session he did an excellent job. Take his courses!

The lectures were almost pointless to attend. Gives out study guides of exactly what will be on the exams, just requires memorizing the study guide terms for the exams. Gives 4 exams including the final and can drop the lowest grade. Extremely easy to do well. Take this class if you want an easy A, but not if you want to learn. Nice guy too!

His lectures are all over the place. It's very hard to follow what he's getting at and he gets side tracked EVERY SINGLE TIME. His lectures are basically useless to attend, just make sure you do the assigned readings and show up on Fridays for discussion. He is very unorganized and takes forever to hand back grades. Funny and nice guy though!

I would not recommend him at all. He is very well educated and knows his stuff but he is very unorganized. He doesn't hand out anything. He sends everything through email. He's all over the place, lectures are hard to follow. It is not clear as to what I am supposed to take from the class. Overall I felt as though I was set up to fail.

I had Professor Cheeseboro over the summer and he is a very knowledgeable teacher, especially regarding middle eastern and South African history. He uses you-tube as an aid during his lectures which makes for a interesting class. He is a little unorganized and can be a bit boring a times but for the most part, he is a good teacher.

Super easy class. Let's you know exactly what's going to be on the test. Tests are vocab definitions and essays. He grades very easily on the essays so it's all good. He doesn't take attendance but several days he gave extra credit to those who showed up. I highly recommend taking Cheeseboro. He's a cool guy and good teacher.

I took this class as a Gen Ed requirement. There are 4 test and you get to drop one. He frequently gave extra credit for the days that few showed up for his class. The test were typically easy because he gave a study guide out the class prior. Highly recommend Mr Cheeseboro!

This guy is amazing. Take him. His tests are difficult if you dont open a book or know anything about his history. Other than that the guy is very smart, knows a lot. The downside is that it is a history class. You cant really make history fun. He tries though. He is very very very very helpful. I really don't know why there are bad reviews.
