A fascinating person to talk to, even when you don't agree with him. Isn't the most organized, so you won't be using a sakai page, thus it's best to show up to class. He cares about students as students, and wants everyone to be involved around campus. Can get distracted from his plans by a good discussion. If you are confused, ask him in person.

This was the second class I had that was taught by Professor Land. He really has a great grasp on the topics he covers and is always willing to have a discussion on any area he might not be sure about. Just because he seems easy going, does not mean his tests are. You need to show up and pay attention to the lectures. Overall, love his teaching!

Art Land is awesome. He is funny, interesting, and has an awesome background. I went with him on the study abroad trip to Australia and I had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend him to any comm student.

Nice professor, interesting to listen to. Tests are really hard, you have to really know the info he lectured about and the info in the textbook. I'd take his class again though!

I really enjoyed his class, even though he got off topic a lot. The class was very discussion based, but the tests were not. However, I feel like I learned a lot in his class as we talked about relevant current events and situations. I also enjoyed his sense of humor. I would recommend this class to anyone.

Greatest Professor Ever! He was very supportive and informative. He was a fairly easy grader. Whatever he writes on the board, write in your notes. He will point out what you need to know for the test.

This class, COMA 101 (Intro to Communication) is pretty similar to COMA 102, however a lot easier as you do not need to memorize as much. What I learned from COMA 101 is that Art still loves Reliable Sources and his weekly quizzes and never fails to digress in every single class discussion. An awesome guy, though!

I love Professor Land as a person, not as a professor. He's fun in class, but tends to get off topic too much. For COMA 102 (Comm. Ethics), we had weekly quizzes and had to watch CNN's Reliable Sources. Be sure to memorize the text book for the monthly tests! No papers at all, just a 5-minute presentation at the end of the semester worth 100 pts.

Art is a nice guy. For Writ 101 we did quizes ever week and had to watch reliable sources on CNN. This class doesn't teach you how to write college papers at all. I recommend another class for that but Art is an nice guy.

He is so personable, so easy to relate to. You can tell he loves teaching and interacting with students. Class can easily get off topic, but he feeds off class participation and is a better professor when the class is actively engaged in his lectures. Study the vocab thoroughly!! It will appear on tests, you will do better if you have it memorized.

Best teacher you will ever have. He makes the class really enjoyable so you actually learn somethings. His tests are hard, but if you study enough you can get a good grade. Uses real life examples in many of his lessons to help you understand each field of study. Which is extremely helpful.
