Comment:

Her summer class was one of my absolute favorites. I not only learned, but was inspired to undertake my own theological study. She is engaging and willing to understand ideas and theories from any perspective. She is open-minded yet sound, and is a far step above many professors who harbor biased conservative agendas. Thank God for Barb Searcy.

Barb is a wonderful and smart woman. She is willing to question and probe scripture in ways that many people are afraid to do. Oh and by the way, most of the controversial stuff she presents in class are NOT her opinion she just likes to show all of the views of the Christian church. Not all Christians are conservative people! (Jesus sure wasn't)

I've had her for Theology and Christian Ethics and I recommend her for everyone! She makes the material interesting and pretty easy to remember. Know the studyguide she gives you and you'll do great! And she's a pretty lenient grader. If she sees you care, she'll help you all she can.

Really unique and interesting proff. I liked her class for most part. Took her for 2 religion classes (Christian Ethics and the class after that). Lots of essay questions on her tests but when you study her study guides then you do really well!

Barb is not as out there as you think. Lots of Christians are also feminists (Christians for Biblical Equality) feminism is equality, it's just gotten a bad association. Also, she does not contradict scripture.. she just shows a different way to interpret it. Open your mind and think a little!

Dr. Searcy is my favorite professor this semester. I appreciate how she brings a new perspective to her class, a fresh change from the same old that I receive from a lot of the other professors here. I never thought I would actually enjoy Intro. to Theology, but I look forward to taking another class with her. Tests and papers are pretty easy.

Barb Searcy is a very nice woman but has no business teaching any religion course. She is a feminist first and formost and is constantly contradicting scripture or saying that it doesn't matter. Well they just published a new Bible. It does not contain the book of Revelation or any of Paul's pastoral epistles because they are considered sexest. Also it is totally gender neutral. I'm sure Barb will be using this version in her classes soon.

Dr. Searcy's class was easy, but not very interesting. Class could be a bit of a bore, but she offered a different perspective. As long as you write down everything you'll make an easy A, although studying for tests is a bit difficult.

Very nice and warm teacher. She is an easy grader. She has interesting lectures and amazing viewpoints. IF your a Republican beware! She goes on & on about her Pro-Clinton politics. Makes a lot of students uncomfortable. Politics should not be in class!
