Professor Ozzello is great! At first I really struggled through her class-she was very strict about attendance and gave lots of homework and group projects, but grew to really admire and appreciate her. She teaches her subject well, cares about her students and is quite an amazing human being. if you turn in assignments late she wont grade them

Comment:

This class consists of 1 online exam (very easy), 2 group presentations and a 15 minute solo presentation as your final with little write-ups here and there. Overall her grading criteria and instructions are unclear and the projects are very open ended which allows you to be creative. No lectures whatsoever. You will learn and improve a lot!

She a very cool and approachable teacher. She instills confidence in the students and motivates you to do your best. Also her classes are very fun and she cares about the students. If you do the work you will learn a lot and get an A.

Dr Oz is one of the best! She comes off as little intimidating, but once you get to know her, she's seriously the best! There is practically no structure which allows you to spread you wings. Didn't take seriously at first, but learned to love it. Later, overcame my fear of public speaking and learned to make eye contact! Take her if you can!

Very nice lady. Always makes you feel the best and youll leave the class in a wonderful mood. Mostly everything is done in groups except the first presentation and final presentation.

Professor Oz really cares about her students and acts as a mentor throughout the semester. The class pushes students to grow as individuals while facing their fears of public speaking. Great group dynamics and support from teacher and students make this class fun when it could be torture.

Dr Oz is one of a kind. There is 2 solo speeches (1st about 5 minutes and 2nd 15minutes), then a partner and group presentation. 2 mock interviews. And about a 3-5 page critique paper after each one. She makes public speaking easier, but there is a lot more work and effort to be put in than expected...

This class was great! Since it is a communications class you will have to give presentations in front of the class, but they really aren't that bad. I've never had a more enthusiastic and caring professor, this class really was a lot of fun to take.

Dr. Oz is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. She makes public speaking/speeches easier to do and allows the class to give feedback as well as herself. She is older and wise and usually tells funny stories a lot and is very inspirational. She is young at heart and made this English class the best one I have ever taken.

I've got an insane amount of social anxiety, and dropped every public speaking class I tried to take. Without Dr. Oz, I'd never graduate. She's the most wonderful, understanding, knowledgeable, and hilarious professor I've ever met. She grades based on your effort, not your success, and genuinely wants you to succeed. She's an absolute gift.

Bottom line: If you want to get a job, learn how to overcome your fears, communicate with confidence and learn how to collaborate, then taking Dr. Oz's class is the best way to go. Oh, sure, you can opt for other instructors, but if you don't take Dr. Oz's class, you'll be missing out on an experience that will last a lifetime. She's the best.

This was such a fun class! Dr Oz is totally unconventional, in fact you'll only use the book for one take home quiz. The rest of class is spent learning real world, practical applications of speech in business.Great professor, one of the best! Take her!

This is the most interesting class I've ever taken at Sierra. English is my second language. I was so nervous to take a communication class, but she made it fun and helpful. You have to prepare 4 speeches, which is a little bit more than other communication classes. However, trust me! You will see how you improve your skills after each speech.

Dr. Oz is fantastic! Her teaching style is focused on developing real life skills. She creates a non-judgmental environment in the classroom. All the classmates encourage & root for each other through all of our speeches. She is unconventional. Provides tons of room for creativity & exploration. Loved her! Makes public speaking less intimidating.

The best class/professor I've had at Sierra. I was afraid of public speaking before coming in and now I feel like I could give a speech to anyone, anywhere. She puts you in groups, though, which wasn't my favorite. 1 short (3 mins) solo, 1 medium (6 mins) partner, 1 medium group and 1 long (15 mins) speech, and 1 take home test you can redo.

Really fun teacher! Her class was a blast one of the few I actually knew the other classmates names. She is very helpful. She is all about creativity which is nice. She is not a teacher who only cares about her way. Just know how to present. It was an awesome class!
