Comment:

Dr. Shaw is the one of the best professors I have ever had! Instead of the typically college style lecture that most professors use to present their material, Dr. Shaw weaves a story of historical facts. I find him interesting and engaging. His has inspired me to go on to grad school and further my own history career. Thank you Dr. Shaw!

Comment:

Dr. Shaw is the most intelligent professor I have ever met. He knows what he's talking about, and wants to make sure that you do to. Pay very close attention in class, I'm not going to try and tell you its easy, but he's fascinating, and makes you want to pay attention, even if you hate history. (Don't forget to read it doesnt seem important-it is)

He is the most A-MAZ-ING man ever. He is so adorable. I love his sweaters. He loves history. He is probably the cutest old man I have ever seen. He knows his stuff and is so cute when he talks about it. He loves what he does. Take his class - he's hot. :)

I'm a nursing major, and I have to say that history is not my subject. I was dreading this class from the beginning, but once I got to know Dr. Shaw, I really started to like the class! He really knows his stuff, and tries to make every concept interesting. He's a great guy and a typical southern gentleman!

Great guy. Graduated from CCC 12 years ago and I still smile when I think of his classes. I loved going to "story time" with Bart. He contextualized the most difficult concepts in a way that even I could understand. Take his clas if you can.

I had him way back in 1989 and still remember him as one of the best, most interesting teachers I've ever had. I minored in history b/c of him! 18 years later I still remember his wonderful stories and tell them to my own students!

extremely friendly and overall nice guy - tons of information - instead of taking down every single tidbit of info and interesting fact - just focus on the BIG ideas, people and laws... which is exactly what Shaw advises. TESTS are everthing and a huge part of grade.
