She is a fine old lady. Knew the langue 100% but took level 1 anyway. Don't think she really taught. When she calls on you she says the answer before you have a chance to answer, kinda down you throat. Wants you to do well. Bring textbook each class. Midterm & final and 3 quizzes. She is very specific in how your write the letters Overall 7/10

Comment:

She was a very helpful teacher. Will make extra time to sit with you and will assign a tutor if wanted. Gives a midterm and final which are long and hard , and covers everything. Could be a bit confusing at times and makes you participate multiple times throughout the class.

I dreaded coming to this class everyday. She is rude, moves too fast, and expects her students to know hebrew coming into the 101 course. Would not reccomend .

She is a fantastic teacher. I took her using e-permit because the level I needed wasn't offered at my CUNY. She offered extra CLASS for whoever wanted, after the regular class, where we did more conversational Hebrew and used newspapers and magazines. The class was not dull, so be prepared to be kept on your toes.

Great professor, very patient with questions asked on a variety of topics. I took class with her for four semesters in a row and wish she taught past 202! If you're actively interested in learning the language rather than just sitting in class, she's very encouraging and gives a lot of great pointers and outside references.

Prof. Tabiv is a miserable woman who appears to hate pretty much everything, including teaching. She would go off on these weird off-topic tangents about politics, history, mysticism, philosophy, etc. that would last for the entire class period and threw regular temper tantrums when we asked her to please go back to teaching us hebrew. Avoid her.

I was pretty shocked by this woman's behavior in class. I thought she was very knowledgeable and could have been a terrific teacher but... I don't know. There was something really wrong with her. Tabiv makes this class a lot of fun. I have taken many other language classes and could never pick anything up, but I'm doing very well here, thanks to her. Easier than some classes, but I think that has to do with her teaching. Overall, great, and a lot of fun.

pretty terrible teacher all around. she loved me (i lived in israel for several years as a kid so my hebrew is pretty good) but tortured the other kids, especially those that were struggling. shouldn't it be the other way around?

SHE IS VERY HELPFUL, YET SHE PUTS YOU ON THE SPOT. IT PISSED ME OFF THAT SHE ASSUMES THAT JUST BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE ALREADY KNEW THE LANGUAGE, EVERYONE ELSE DOES AS WELL.

i had Prof. Tabiv for heb. 101 and was so happy with the class that i decided to take her for 102 as well. and am planning to take her for the next two semesters as well. VERY EASY, very helpful. just an over all sweet and good natured woman.
