Horrible, first day of class he said 70% of us in his class will fail! No help whatsoever, all he kept saying is his Dr. sons would be able to fly through all this, so whats wrong with you? How this guy has a job is the real theoretical question I would like answered. At SCSU the only physics profs to take are Haglin or Harlander

He is not helpful, his time is virtually up at SCSU. It seems that at the age that he is at he doesn't seem to care anymore about helping the students. Pretty easy there's only four tests, which includes the exam. Just make sure you go to classes before the tests he goes over the exact same test he gave the semester before. It's super easy, and he's got the craziest stories

Basically took this same class in high school (admittedly my high school physics was really meant to be a college level class) People say he is hard because people expect to be able to use a notecard w/ formulas on it. Physics is hard for many people, that's just how it is. Overall, is a fairly average prof. certainly not great. You must work hard!

Avoid this teacher. His lectures are impossible to follow. never tells what chapter he is teaching or what section it is. doesn't do examples for the class. he is never in the room during lab, you have to walk half way around the building to get to his office if you have questions. very poor availibility. he makes the students feel like idiots.

If you work hard and are good at physics you will do well. If you don't work hard you won't. I was scared to take this class because of the ratings on this site, but Dalton turned out to be one of my favorite professors because I learned a lot. It's physics; it is not going to be easy.

He is the worst teacher I have ever had. Do not take him at all costs. I am an A student that is working off my ass to just pass this class. He uses different notation than what is in the book, no parital credit, and basically he is a mumbling idiot during lectures. I am very unsatisfied with SCSU for having him be the only prof to teach 232.

Horrible professor ever in the whole entire SCSU. Should retire immediately. all you learn in his class is "you can black-out with 8 gravity". Tests are ridiculous,14pts/question out of 100; you do the math? miss 2 and u get a c- and you don't get partial credits either. He's not very clear, hard to understand. You're better off reading the book!

he act as if people should know how to do the harder parts of physics and all of the problems without explaination and then over-explains the simple aspects. he does things backwards...he will tell you to do the problem and then after 10 minutes of everyone staring blankly not knowing how to do it, he will then start to explain how to do it.

Not a fun class, because he likes failing people and belittling people. Very very difficult to take him during the summer. Not clear or helpful if you ask him for explanations. Don't take him if you like physics and you want to pass because you won't like physics or pass. Worked very hard and barely passed with a full time tutor.
