Decent professor. Easy class. I think he tries too hard to come off as the cool teacher. Also tries too hard make students feel like he's their friend (Example: You can call him Bill). Too fake in my opinion and it was proven with the things that I heard from other people. I will try to avoid taking courses that he teaches.

I thought I would hate this class but I actually enjoyed going and hated leaving. We talking about poverty a majority of the semester but he made learning fun. Bill did a great job at getting to know each student personally. I am taking more classes just because he teaches them!

Take this class with Venzke. I took him expecting an easier work load, but it's not. It's a ton of reading, and he won't care if you actually read; he wants discussion only and will quiz you if he finds out the class didn't read. I also agree that he thinks he's smart when he actually makes typos all the time. His grading on essays isn't fair.

He is just wonderful! Seriously, I learned so much from him, not just in his class, but because he takes the time to know his students. If you want a good class I recommend him for anything! And if you don't want to take a class I strongly recommend getting to know him. He actually gives you the opportunity to live what you learn!
