CHEGG will be your bestfriend. Buy the cheggstudy for the homework bc it counts as all or nothing. It has steps on how to do it and will help for the test. He was funny at first but increasingly became scatterbrained and unstructured. I only passed with an A because I taught myself. He DOES round the tests so you have cushion there. AVOID this prof

Great guy but won't help out when it comes to your grade. Joined class late and had no idea what i was doing & didn't give me clear instructions, didn't get to turn in any of the homework because turning it in is just as difficult as doing it. Be prepared for: a lot of homework and long drawn out lectures. You NEED to know what you're doing. ATTEND

His lectures are completely off topic and pointless. I've learned nothing from him. They're funny though, I wouldn't mind if attendance wasn't mandatory. We just have to sit there and listen him ramble. At first his lectures were funny, but after a while of mandatory attendance it got super annoying wasting my time. Learn at the stats lab.

Comment:

Mr. Bob Price is one of the most hilarious and quirky professors I have ever had. Thus, he is my favorite. He tells the funniest stories and you really get to know him for who he is. A quirky sociology professor who majored in political sociology. I am indifferent about Stats but I would take it again if he were my instructor.

He's such a nice man and I can tell that he cares about his students but I didn't learn anything. Nothing. I had to re-teach myself everything he went over in lecture from the book. And you need the book. He just isn't that great of a teacher? Great guy though. Lots of homework

This man is the king of dad jokes. He is super funny and entertaining! He IS a really great prof, however, as a Mass Comm major (like most other kids in the class) I had a very hard time grasping what he was talking about. I feel like people with a math-oriented brain would be fine, but I always found myself relearning everything from the book.

Dr. Price is a smart and entertaining professor. His class was engaging, moderately difficult and fun to attend. Do not take if you want an easy blow off class, there was a lot of reading required for the random quizzes that made up a large portion of the final grade. If you miss a day, it can be tough to catch up so dont skip!

If you take a class with Dr. Price expect to learn A LOT of valuable info. You've got to work for your grade. 30 page chapter readings pretty much every week with a usual pop quiz to follow. Every class has a lecture, and the midterm and final exams are essay questions. This class was a lot of work, but Price keeps lectures interesting.

If you don't like Dr. Price then you probably just didn't do anything in his class. He's so nice and funny, and genuinely cares. His lectures are always interesting and as long as you show up, do your work and make an effort, you'll be fine. My favorite professor so far at texas state.

Dr. Price was an absolute delight. He doesn't lecture in honors but is more of a discussion based format. His grading is fairly stringent but fair. He is very respectful and runs a tight ship but as long as you show up and participate he will take care of you. His assignments are a book analysis, video project, conspiracy theory paper and final.

He's funny, but his class/note aren't structured whatsoever. He has a grader who grades extremely hard & makes it hard to be creative/expand your thought & only grades based on if what was said in lecture. GO TO CLASS because he has pop quizzes. I missed 1 & it dropped me a letter grade. only 2 tests which are both essays. I ended up dropping.

I am taking him for Data analysis. He isnt good at explaining anything and always goes off onto weird stories. On more then one occasion I have gotten HW assignments that I couldnt fine help on. One assignment I went through 5 GAs and 4 tutors. Non could tell me why he was having us do what he wanted us to do the way he was; and had never done it..

Grades were entierly derived from 4 essay question tests and nothing else. On essays he just wants you to write what was said in lecture about the topic, he doesn't want original thought! No textbook and email tool was disabled to prevent note sharing. His narcissism aside, the lectures were awesome.

Professor Price goes off on annoying tangents a lot. He explains everything to the best of his ability, but in stats you really have to read the book in addition to the lectures. There was a lot of homework but it was a completion grade. Tests were very hard. I really enjoyed what he taught us and I still apply what I learned every day.

Dr. Price is a funny teacher who knows his stats. He was slightly rude though when I asked him questions. His tests are half comprehensive multiple choice then 3 word math problems. I asked him how I could do better on the multiple choice and he back fired saying my method would result in an F. When I made an A in the class:/

Comment:

This is one of the hardest classes I've had at Texas State. On the test, there is a lot of multiple choice questions that are very conceptual. I've understood the math part but there are usually only 3-4 math problems on each exam. Make sure you read the book and understand way past just the definition of words.
