Shouldn't offend her sensitive sensibilities, only a niche group who actually like her. All grading done by one TA, so takes weeks for one grade. Overall, can't have opposing opinions, "discussions" are overtly anecdotal or just an agreement jerk fest, take a more difficult class if it means avoiding her. Tank your GPA if it means avoiding her.

Moore isnt a bad professor. Shes just not engaging enough. I feel like we were being talked at. Not sure if it was because race is a sensitive topic that nobody wanted to participate, but i Found myself bored most of the time. The quizzes are weighed heavily. They aren't that hard to pass but read the textbook if you dont pay attention in class

Professor Moore's class is weighed down by her disorganized and incoherent lectures. She is basically technologically illiterate, and goes out of her way to call on students who clearly aren't paying attention. She is also a very strict grader, makes two difficult quizzes worth 60% of the grade and takes points off essays without feedback.

Comment:
Moore's lectures were confusing and she talked in circles. Was not open to feedback on class material and would argue with students when they brought up concerns. Quiz 2 was nearly impossible. Thankfully there was a ton of extra credit the last two weeks of the semester so we could bring our grades up. Each test is worth 30% so make sure you study.

The material was interesting, however she was not. Her slides were unorganized, dull, and not presented very well. She was often very rude to students, and very closed minded to comments about the three quizzes that determined 90% of our grade. She does not post her class notes- so plan on showing up and reading the text.

The class was pretty easy except for Quiz 2 (which is worth 30%). The quiz was poorly written. When I went back to look at my quiz I had gotten a few wrong that should have been correct. When this was brought up by the majority of the class she brushed it off saying that we need to study more. She never admits when she is wrong and has no curve.

Professor Moore is by the far the worst professor I have ever had at UB. Her quizzes are confusing and when the class gave her feedback on a difficult quiz her response was pretty much too bad study harder. If it werent for the extra credit assignments I wouldve failed the course or barely passed. 10/10 do not recommend her

Professor Moore often just reads right from the slides. The lectures are right from the book so make sure you read it. (seriously) Always study for quizzes bc they're a big part of your grade and take advantage of pop quizzes at the end of the semester. intersting class but she had trouble getting her point across and teaching the material well.

Dr. Moore is a nice person, but her exams are the definition of horrid. I got a 60 on the first exam after spending hours studying. Luckily, she gave us extra credit otherwise I might have failed this course. She also showed up at 5:07 every single day (for the most part) even though the class started at 5.

Very knowledgeable but gets confusing sometimes. The tests were sort of difficult. Do the reading and it will help a lot. Not always clear on what exactly will be on the "quizzes" which are actually tests. There is 3 or 4 tests, one critical essay on a topic you get assigned (which was easy), and 2 essay responses based on videos from class.

Professor Moore knows her knowledge about sociology, but she's not a good professor don't take her unless you have to. 30% of your grade are mainly "quizzes" and her questions are so wordy that most people do bad on them and she doesn't care that they do. When you go to her to ask her to explain the quiz answers, she says read the textbook.

Honestly as long as you show up and take notes there's no reason why you should get less than an A. The class is easy.

Knows what she's talking about. Mostly. Purposely calls on people who aren't paying attention+complains that we don't have enough time to cover everything. LGBT unit was empty and barebones in comparison to other units. There was no talk of of stereotypes, life expectancy, depression, etc. like all the other units before it. A terribly done unit.

Spends the entire class reading off a powerpoint that is out of date. Gives multiple choice quizzes and one paper that decides your grade. Gives extra credit quizzes at the end of the semester that gave me 14 points on my final grade.

Dr. Moore is a really intelligent woman in the sociological field with impressive research. With that being said, she isn't the best professor. I got the feeling of being talked "at", not taught. If you need help though and attend class and care, she'll try to help with whatever you need. Mostly she'll say read the textbook, though.

This professor was by far the worst professor I have ever had! She is extremely disrespectful! For a sociology class I figured that this class would be enjoyable and would be an easy A.. NOT! Her "quizzes" count for 25% each, and they are impossible to pass! Her excuse is to "read the textbook" however, even when you do it doesn't help! Avoid her!

She is probably the worse professor I have ever had in my four years at this school. She makes you write books for notes and go superfast so you don't even get a chance to write down the notes. A very vicious grader, the highest grade on the class's last exam was an 83!!! 83!!!!! Thats ridiculous for a Soc class!! Don't take her!! Avoid at all cost

Professor Moore is simply awful. She is incredibly rude to students who ask questions, she wastes time calling on random students who are obviously not paying attention just to pick on them, and she is extremely vindictive. If she feels too many people have left lecture she will take attendance again. She also takes weeks and weeks to send grades.

She takes attendance. Her assignments are mostly group based and they are really easy to score full marks as long as you follow her requirements and be precise. Book review: follow her criteria&you will get full marks for it. Quizzes: easy if you study and take notes. Extra credit: not easy. She will also call out people. shes very knowledgeable!

Personally not a fan of prof Moore. She shows up late, calls on random people, takes attendance, and doesn't put powerpoints online. The powerpoints come right from the textbook so reading helps. Quizzes aren't too bad, worded weird sometimes. Research paper is easy. Go to class, read the book and you will do fine but don't expect to love the prof.
