Comment:
Engl 1A contains A LOT of multiple choice quizzes on reading and grammar, anywhere from 2-3 quizzes per week. You could excel in the essays getting A's and B's and still struggle to pull off an A because the quizzes are so heavy on your grade. The required readings are boring and dreadful and the quizzes ask very specific detail oriented questions.

If you are into literature, you will love this class. 3 hour nonstop lecture. If you are not into literature, you will be bored to tears. See above. But he doesn't care if you don't listen and goof off on phone or computer. No need to take notes. Homework is easy. As far as hotness, overstuffed Tony stark with a touch of the gay gene. He's cool.

Prof. Isaacs is rad. Super smart, well read, funny, & so far from boring - you'll look forward to class. As an Engl. major, some lit. classes are dry b/c required reading list blows. Not Isaacs'. He finds ways to relate the lit. to real world events (old/new) that make it interesting. I learned a lot + he's a good looking mf. So hot. Thx Isaacs!

Do yourself a favor and take his class. Not only is he completely knowledgeable about the material, the guy is hilarious. Amazing lecturer that will make sure you're never bored in class. Weekly readings, quizzes, and essays but the stories were very enjoyable and well worth it. I would come back to Elco to take his class again.

Professor Isaac is an amazing teacher. He makes sure you understand the subject, and his class is NEVER boring. ( He's hilarious!) If you show up, pay attention, and do your assignments you will pass his class. The students that complained were the one's who missed class frequently, and didn't turn in their work.-- AWESOME TEACHER!

Professor Isaacs has been one of the best professors at El Camino College I have taken. His vocabulary tests are the best because I get to learn words I do not use in my every day vocabulary! It is an easy class if you study and do the homework! Also, his humor is the best!

While vulgar and funny, Isaacs may be the most knowledgeable professor I've had. He's read and contemplated over boatloads of literature. You'll improve your critical thinking, English, and history knowledge in his World Literature classes. Each week, you'll spend several hours reading and writing a short, persuasive essay on what you've read.

He is an amazing teacher! He really cares about his students and he really does try to make you a better reader. He does give a vocabulary quiz every Monday and reading quiz every Wednesday, but honestly they help you out in the long run. Also, best part is if you finish your quiz early, you may leave the class. :)

He is a great professor! He is really funny and he helps you grow a lot as a writer. However, there is an essay and a quiz every weeK. I know many people in that class that had difficulty passing (the quizzes are curved but he is a harsh essay grader). His lectures are long and there is no discussion. Make sure you don't skip any essays!!!

Prof. Isaacs is, hands down, the finest English teacher I've ever taken. He's brilliant and his lectures may be long, but he will teach you why we study literature. Little tolerance for boring, standard freshman comp writing. Be creative. Read closely. By rights, he should be at a prestigious 4-yr University, so count yourself lucky and show up.

Hard class but amazing professor! Much reading and weekly essays but you learn A LOT. If you enjoy mind-blowing lectures about history and world literature, then this is the class for you! Warning: Many get turned off by his crude Colbert-like humor but as he says on the first day, "We'll be dealing with very mature subjects in an immature way."

If you can sit through 3 hours of nonstop rambling, then this is the class for you. Quizzes focus on hard to remember details, but essays are fairly easy as long as you have a good thesis. Professor Isaacs is kind of funny and he's a nice guy but he really got on my nerves sometimes.
