Comment:
Do not take this class as an elective. Brian has a passion for teaching, which is good and bad. He really wants you to learn so he teaches this course at a graduate level, but then test you at an undergraduate level. Unless you have high econ knowledge you won't understand his lectures. The only way to survive is too study the text book.

Brian is a nice and helpful professor and also very intelligent (intimidating!). Read the chapter in the book before the handwritten notes, and chances are you will understand what he's actually talking about in class. Luckily he is an easy marker, and is helpful during office hours and after class. Recommended! :-)

hmm take him if you are smart and knows the material. Otherwise, he talks too fast and just skim trough the important materials. Class is boring as he just read from his ugly writing overheads....

Scarfe is sooo intense. He lectures so fast and overcomplicates the material. He is so smart and knows alot about economics but makes the course very intimidating. Relatively easy marker but you need to study really hard

Slack. First upper level Economics class I ever took and I hadn't taken 203 or 204 beforehand. Never bought or read the textbook or did any of the problem sets. Just attend lectures and review notes before exams. Final was extremely long, however, the prof is a relatively easy marker.

Print out and read the lecture notes. Do the assigned practice questions. That's all you really need, he is a little unclear because he speaks really fast but he's eager to help and his tests are straight forward if you've practiced the material.

Hardest course ever! He is very friendly, approachable and helpful. He definitely knows what he teaches, but he is sooooooo smart that he uses a lot of giant vocab, making the materials sound even harder! This course is only for those who are ready to read the whole textbook (22 chapters) and study hard-core!!

This class was really interesting, and Scarfe knows it all like the back of his hand. Definitely a challenging course but not impossible, Scarfe won't let you leave his office until you are clear. Highly recommended.

Damn...never take his class, this class is so hard. Well.. may be i should say that the material isn't that hard but his tests are "DAMN HARD" and long. I have just finish his exam, and the exam was long a hard. If you have choice, don't take his class!! Unless you are very smart and have lots money to spend. lol

A nightmare of a class. He only cares about finishing the book (22 chapters) in a term, regardless, whether the class asks him to slow down or not. From what i've heard about him, he is a nice guy and he may well be. Just not in this class. The material is ridiculously hard and his explanations unclear. If you have a choice-drop it.

This class was a joke. Photocopy all his notes cuz u ain't gonna copy them in time in class. Then take them all and study the night before the test and ace it. Don't even bother going to class cuz you'll fall asleep.
