Bruce makes you dream with Locke, weep with Marx, sigh with Hobbes, and hope with Kant. He lives in the fast lane and passes on the shoulder, and hammers through material like it is '94 all over again. In Hunter's class, there is NOTHING you Kant do.

I liked Hunter. He was very funny in lecture and would draw us "cartoons" to keep us entertained. Quite a character. However, a bit of a flighty marker. Entire class got As on the first paper and then it suddenly got pretty hard. He could be a little confusing and went on some tangents but made a dry subject fun. Great choice of readings.

Wonderful prof and an extremely kind guy as well. You have to be absolutely sure that you understand the essay topics and what is asked of you because sometimes you may miss the most important arguments/discussion points in your writing. Highly recommend Dr. Hunter, he shows great passion as well as being a fair marker.

Comment:
Dr. Hunter is obviously very passionate about philosophy, helpful and an easy marker. That being said (and this is coming from a philosophy major) there was far too much emphasis on the epistemological and metaphysical characteristics of the philosophers studied in the course. Decent prof, but not great for political philosophy.

If the human race needed to choose an ambassador to represent earth on some distant world, he would be the guy. I would trust him with that job. I would even give him the keys to my Monte Carlo SS if he needed to do a quick beer run, that's how reliable he is. You just -know- you're in good hands with this prof.

Amazing professor. I never missed a class because each lecture was so informative and also hilarious. I didn't even really know / wasn't really all that interested in the phil of history before going into the course, but by the end, it was impossible to not be engaged. Definitely take one of his courses if you can.

Professor Hunter is a brilliant prof. He knows the material inside out and does all that he can to make it engaging. He marks papers and assignments very fairly and it is important to do the readings and attend class as he does a great job at clarifying anything you may not understand. And the cartoons he draws for his notes are hilarious.

Funny cartoons and real-world examples. Interesting text choices. If it weren't for occasionally boring oversimplicity, I'd really like this course.

Used very clear real world examples (and cartoons) to illustrate abstract concepts. Sometimes found myself a little sleepy in lectures, but thats what the seminars are for. overall good prof who would throw in some fine distractions in to class. "Ho-Ho's is the Place for Chinese Food"

Really, really repetitive and forgetful. Lectures pander to those taking the class as an elective. Test was take home, really easy. References to 'The Matrix'--- dude, that's lame-o.
