Comment:

Bruce is a brilliant conductor and director. He is very organized. His choirs will be the best you will sing with, and will have the best parties. Bruce is a tough director though and very strict. He will not tolerate poor excuses, attendance, or behavior during rehearsal. He can have a temper, so don't be a dork and you'll be fine!

Musical Genius, very helpful. Truly and sincerely cares about every student. Yes he will be angry with you if you act like a tool in rehearsal, so don't act like a tool!

Comment:

I love music, but under Bruce, it was not fun at all. The music he chose for our first performance was embarassingly bad, and he was more concerned with the little "skits" than he was with the (only)difficult and intriguing piece (Solfeggio by Part). He yelled at everyone, and did not realize that encouragement motivates better than condescention

He may be a musical genius, but he has no idea how to communicate with people (example: yelling at the choir about people who are late, but yelling before the late-comers arrive!). He has favourites and enemies. Generally an **** to people he doesn't like.

Usually a decent guy and a good teacher, but he'll fly off the handle at seemingly random stuff. His sense of humour might be offensive to some, although I enjoyed it. Just don't ****him off and you'll be fine.

Comment:

Bruce is a brilliant director and a musical genius. He may a little rough around the edges but give him a break he's amazing. Also a GREAT COOK. Very funny man - chamber singers was an experience.
