Great person and phenomenal composer! Made the 7:30-9:30pm class worth it! Had different lectures every week, with guests and talking about what we'd be working on. As long as you're writing music, you'll pass.

How any serious student can think this professor is brilliant is beyond me. He is mediocre and I think in his heart of hearts, he knows it. His class is a waste of time and energy for any student who wishes to learn and develop as a musician. If you are serious about composition, find someone else to work with.

A lovable, kooky muppet. Brilliant, but spacey. Often checks out in the middle of a sentence apparently to do a little composing in his head and returns to earth with a bewildered "Um, oh, right, OK..." Don't get anxious about assignments or grades, just sit back and enjoy the ride and you'll be astonished at how much differently you hear afterward

Comment:

Not bad. He gives you plenty of his own time outside of class to lend a hand and kindly explain what you don't understand. No matter how little or far back you need to go in the semester to go over previous stuff, he helps you with no rude antics. Very nice guy, grades very fairly and knows his stuff.
