Comment:

I am graduating this semester and tried to pick professors that were understandable and reasonable. This professor is nothing close to it. I took his hybrid course so it was a little more vigorous. He would lecture but it would make me even more confused toward the assignment or test. I don't recommend this class if you can't teach yourself.

The whole semester is group oriented. All assignments and tests are open book-open notes & done at home. Lectures are extremely long and boring... but the class is an easy A

The entire course is group work. I don't feel like I learned what I was supposed to learn. He focused a lot of financials and projections but its a marketing class! He is very nice and old school. Grades aren't updated like other classes. Exams are take home but open-ended and confusing. Just make sure you pick a good & responsible team!!

Comment:

Professor Seaton is the best. He is ultimately old school in the way he teaches and grades and loves class participation. Class consists of 3 FAQ's, 2 Take Home Exams, and a group business simulation that represents 35% of your grade. Seaton is highly intelligent and expects you to work hard, if you do though you should have no issue succeeding.

Two take home exam's worth 33%, financial analytical assignments worth 13%, a combination of simulation success, weekly reports, and presentation for 54%. Although he does care about his students passing, I found his class to be confusing at times. His assignments aren't clear and material is often not even discussed in class. Nice guy, okay class

Prof expects you to work as an graduate student. So be prepared to be treated as one. His lectures were confusing. Grading depends on FAQs, take home exams and simulation. FAQs are confusing, take home exams are not multiple choice and simulation is a group project. He really does care about his students but I will not take him again.

Professor Seaton is great professor, but don't expect to get an A without working hard. There's a group project that takes up most of the semester and "FAQ" questions the first half of the semester. He is extremely old school when it comes to grading. Its an undergraduate class but expects you to work as a graduate student.

He is the most confusing and unorganized professor at FIU. His classes are really boring and not helpful at all. Tons of homework every week. Do not take.

Seaton is a funny guy and he wants to see you succeed in his class. However, that does not mean it is easy. His grading is a bit harsh at times and he has no multiple choice tests. Most of your grade consists of the marketplace simulation, financial quiz, and take home exam. And if you have any complaints/questions he'll say "Thats life"

Great teacher! Much learned. He gets off topic but is pretty funny and interesting. And he's got an australian accent. Everyone loves those. MATE!

I wrote a paper every other week. Lucky he allows you to form groups so its less work. He grades with check marks and plus signs, so you don't really know your grade average until the last weeks of the semester. Needs to change this system and actually add normal grade percentages. Got a B in the course and worked very hard. He is not too organized

Great Professor. Very knowledgeable and analytical. If you want to learn, you can really learn a lot. He does follow the class material in a very organized manner and follows the book's topics (and cases). He is very helpful and nice, and again, very good as a teacher.
