The best ENL prof. at UC Davis. You learn a lot in her class and she is a pretty easy grader. She is also one of the nicest profs at Davis. Take her at least once before you graduate!

Comment:
The reading material was fairly easy and unexpected (two of the three novels read I had never heard of before). The lectures were not well organized and I feel the class overall was less than coherent. Class participation was very low though Prof. Gray tried to evoke responses. She is obviously well versed, but I don't think she met her potential.

Incredibly sweet professor! Agreed with the person below--she's approachable and helpful. She makes the discussion atmosphere comfy so you don't feel intimidated when you participate. Her paper topics are interesting and her midterm and final were fairly easy. One of my favorite professors, thus far!

Great class for freshmen who need to fulfill the English requirement. She is very approachable, I never went to her office hours but she is willing to help you on your papers. A lot of papers in this class. Easy midterm and final. Keep up on the reading. You don't necessarily have to pay attention during class, but do pay attention for hints.

The class was really boring but as long as you showed up to class and wrote notes you will be fine, attendance was mandatory but i didn't go a third of the time and still got A- She knows what she's talking about but can get hung up on one piece and not address other pieces. A lot of reading!

I took Dr. Gray for 42B and loved her. I took her Post-Civil War American Lit class, a genre I don't particularly like, and ended up loving the class! Dr. Gray is SO helpful and open, she is also willing to clarify lectures and talk about ANYTHING in her office hours. SO approachable, Please take one of her classes at LEAST once!!

This was an easy class, but I feel like I wasted my time. We finished early, so the last few lectures were just unrelated movies, though attendance was still mandatory. Lots of writing, but the essays themselves weren't too difficult. She's nice though. I might recommend her, but not this class.

Comment:
This class was ridiculously easy. Brynne tried to make the class lighthearted and "fun" but instead made the class silly and insignificant. The papers were easier than papers I have had to do in high school, the midterm was a piece of cake, and the final was open-book/open-note. I wasted time with taking this class.

She is so nice, but the class was mind-numbingly dull. I had to fight falling asleep in lecture everyday. The reading for the class is also ridiculously boring. Easy class, though. Two short papers, easy midterm, could use books on the final.

Dr. Gray is great! Very knowledgeable and giving of her time. She loves to teach her class, her enthusiasm is evident, and you can't help but enjoy yourself as well. If I could, I would have all of my English classes taught by her!

Brynne is super nice and approachable. I took her for ENG 01, and she made the topics for papers actually interesting. Her grading is very consistent, and it actually helps to go to her office hours. She'll read over your paper and tell you what you need to improve on it. My favorite prof thus far!
