Vrooman is an awesome professor. He is very laid-back and I looked forward to every class. I improved my Spanish a lot because of him, and he really makes learning fun. I'd definitely recommend him. You won't regret it!

This guy is awesome since he cares about all of his students and their progress. He adds stories, jokes and actual fun to the classroom. He's one of the best teachers that I have ever had. The whole class had a blast. When you take Spanish try to get no one else but him because he makes learning a lot easier and fun.

He is not a good teacher, spends too much time talking about material not related to class; puts too much on the students to learn themselves, tries so much not to be a typical professor that he just ends up being a bad one; great guy and is cool to talk to but he just doesnt seem serious. It bothers me when professors where clothing like students.

This was my first Spanish class at MCC and he made learning interesting. There were many activities from having to interact with a spanish speaker in the community to learning a subject and teaching your peers. Be sure to keep track of your NPY's! and use the checklist he gives you. Very good at what he does and always excited to teach.

Scott is one of the best Spanish teachers I have at MCC! He's very knowledgable in his field and he has a real passion for Spanish + Teaching. Class is so much fun! We get to sing songs, work together on quizzes and chat the whole time in Spanish! Take this class if you love Spanish! Lots of work but totally worth it! :) Fantastico!

nice guy, spent too much of the semester singing songs. which didn't help me or anyone in the class. also rarely uses text book/workbook. i love spanish, and i completely lost interest in further pursuing the language because i feel i didn't learn anything to move onto 104.

Very nice guy. I took a Spanish 101 class. He provided adequate materials to succeed outside of class but I felt that the class itself was geared more towards people who had some knowledge of the language, even though the class description tells otherwise. He calls on people at random alot, that is frusterating if you don't know answers. Overall =}

I had a 301 composition class with him and he had us write 300 word papers every week on philosophical topics (thats what the class ended up being) It was pretty easy. Final was a 7 pg paper that I wrote 4 pages for and in crappy Spanish and still got the B I had all semester. Really Cool guy. Funny. Worth taking a class with.

Comment:

Scott is awesome! So much fun in that quirky kind of way. Loves Spanish and is very dedicated to helping students learn it. Some groupwork in class is a little awkward at times (singing, working ALOT with others) but it's definitely worth it in the long run. I do more Spanish interacting than he even requires because it's become so enjoyable.
