I'm an IT major, and took both CST 112 and 141. He teacher very fast, and doesn't always teach very well. He gives a lot of homework (online quiz and project every week). He doesn't grade your work until 2 weeks later so you don't know how you are doing in the class. He is a very genuine professor, however I cannot recommend him.

IT major here, took Carl B. Struck for Principles of Computing with Java (CST141) and Website Development (CST 161) **Honest Review** Carl B. Struck has a good heart however, you should be only taking his programming classes if you have background knowledge. Especially for Java because I had knowledge of Processing before his class and struggled.

If you are looking for an easy 101 class, DO NOT TAKE HIM. I needed a tech class to graduate so I though 101 would be easy and yes it is easy but he gives too much work! Also, if you email him, do not expect to hear from him for at least 4 or 5 days. The material was very informative so I would suggest take it with someone else.

I have prof struck for cst112,141,246. He is a great and really wants his students to succeed in life and his classes. Be warned, java programming is NOT EASY. You must read the book and pay attention during the lectures because the concepts learned are very abstract. Project grades range from 70-100 depending on the difficulty of the version

This man is one of the best professors that I have had. He is there for you when you need help or have a question. Responds to emails in a timely fashion. All in all, the best CS professor at Suffolk

I took this class online and I must say he is not there for you at ALL! He expects the class to help each other out (the blind leading the blind). don't bother emailing him he never replies. If you miss one assignment he will fail you. stay clear from him I don't know how he teaches in a regular class but online he's HORRIBLE!

Makes you LEARN. If you can program, you will pass, if you cant program, you will fail. He values your ability to do the programming more than your ability to recite a book. Loved it.

Honestly his a very clever individual, he gives a lot of information not to much time to process his classes are not easy he makes you work. If you want to lernand work a little harder take him if your lazy or your very busy try to avoid him also he doesn't give extra help you need to figure thing your self if you dont undestand.. overall his good.

Took him for CST 112 also - super easy to follow, great at explaining complicated concepts. Grades are really straightforward. Wish I could take him for everything. Bring the textbook to class and you'll be fine.

Best professor that I have met at Suffolk in my entire 2 years. He is extremely helpful and willing to get you to the help you need to pass. Details notes very well. Also appreciate his syllabus for every project, let's you know what to expect! Take him for every computer class and you have a better chance then with the others.

This was the absolute worst online class i have ever taken in my life. the book covers access and he wants u to use sql.uh what?! never helps or grades work on time. by the time you get your grade its time for the next test so u have no idea what you did wrong! do youself a favor and DO NOT TAKE HIM!

The comments on here are so misleading. I'm not sure why people say he's a great teacher. Typical class is listening to him talk for the entire duration with his slides that provide next to 0 examples of anything. Fail a quiz and you fail the course. Grading policy is similar to laws in North Korea; unfair.

Great teacher and really nice guy. He's really understanding and helpful especially if you do your part in the class. The work can be hard but you learn a lot. I'm taking my 6th class with him this fall semester.
