I loved her! She is a great professor. Is there for you during her office hours. Responds to emails pretty quickly. She only teaches every other semester I believe bc she is retired but you should take her if you can! She was funny and gave real life advice! The MC on the exams is hard but go to office hrs and ask for help. Participation matters!

This class was definitely one of the harder classes I've taken yet but she was always there for the students by providing outlines or always being available for office hours. Grade is based of off 2 midterms (30% each) and a final (40%). While it wasn't easy she helped a lot and I'd recommend her if she decides not to retire.

Comment:

Definitely the most difficult course I've taken so far. Professor Docan's outlines for every chapter covered saves lives. She only assigns a couple pages of the book for assignments. If you want an A read the whole chapter. Make sure to memorize outline definitions if given. Those are for California the book covers subjects in general.Take her!!

Prof. Docan is very helpful. Although this was a challenging class, she definitely made it interesting and you will definitely learn a lot. I suggest to study hard and go to her office hours if you want an A!

BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!! I highly recommend anyone take her. attending class is a must, but she makes it so interesting that you really don't to miss. Ask questions and stay engaged. The book is not nearly as important as her lectures. Live by her outlines because they are extremely helpful when studying. Go to her office hours!

She is crystal clear on lectures and everything you need to know is directly from her huge outlines (which are ridiculously useful!). Attendance is a must if you want to succeed. If you're willing to do the work, you won't regret it and you'll actually learn. Looks at improvement and participation to calculate final grade! Take her if you can.

She is a good/nice teacher, explains things thoroughly and will go over things if you have questions.There is homework but you don't get credit for doing it, however if you are called on in class you lose 1% if you are not there or don't have homework done. It's to your benefit to do the homework. Tests are straight-forward.

take her if you can!! shes great. keeps the class interesting with her humor and makes it easy to understand. the material can be a little difficult but she explains it over and over again until you get it. just really know the outlines, read the assigments and pay attention. i really enjoyed this class.

This class is NOT easy @ all. The person that rated her poorly was prob from the afternoon class Docan would say were her "troublemakers." Prof Docan is the BEST prof at CSUN! TAKE HER if offered! You WON'T regret it! She makes it UNDERSTANDABLE & CLEAR. Of course u HAVE 2 pay attention & come 2 class! STUDY the outlines inside & out! :D

the person underneath me is confused somehow or we arent in the same class together. she literally makes you learn yourself until your confused and then lectures to make you more confused. i dont know if other blaw classes are easier but her tests are extreamly hard, goes over nothing in class and expects you to do all the work. take a diff prof

Probably the best professor I've had at CSUN. TAKE HER! This is a law class. For those who don't think that way, it can be challenging. Docan is great, though. Knows her stuff & explains things super well. 2 tests & a final. Attendance & homework a must for success. She has a tough side- doesn't want to hear your b.s./excuses... but you will LEARN.

A very nice professor who's willing to help the students. Not an easy class but her lectures are clear and thoughtful. The textbook wasn't used as much but knowing the outlines inside-out is a must. Administers 3 exams and a final. Doing the HW problems and asking for feedback helps a lot. Most materials are on WebCT.

Comment:

99% of this class is law. Docan is such a sweet lady and she is willing to help. Gives multiple examples to the point that you get it. The material is hard if you don't understand law that well but she tries to make it as simple/basic as possible. Attending class definitey makes it easier. Midterms/Final not too horrible.
