I've never had a teacher have so much disdain for their students. Seriously do yourself a favor and don't take this class. You'll get two grade letters lower than usual. Very good professor, explains everything well in excellent lectures. If you study, do the work, and ask for help if you need it, you surely will pass this class. Note: Calculus is not an easy subject, requires work and dedication. Don't be discouraged by the many negative reviews.

don't even bother!! She's lazy and does not care about her students. No one could attend her office hours bcuz she has meetings back to back. Half the class was failing and she did not want to curve... Take it with someone else honestly

You will not get an A no matter how bright you think you are. Maybe a B if you spend your nights, and weekends doing homework problems. I ended up withdrawing from the course and I can't name a single person who got an A. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

If you want to keep your GPA high, DO NOT take her class. She seems nice but she doesn't know how to explain things. She rushes through them and makes it very difficult to take notes. She doesn't understand the questions you ask and when you take a test, there is going to be at least one question that you never went over.

I transferred to UCLA for bio with Carol Paxton being my only B at GCC. This class stands alone in how it is designed to make an A borderline impossible. Tests are 10 questions on average. She is guarenteed to put one question she didn't teach you to do. I repeat she doesn't want to give A's. If you like working hard for B's go ahead. DONT TAKE HER

HER ATTENDANCE POLICY IS THE WORST!! Her class starts at a certain time but in order to be considered on time you have to be there 5-10 minutes early!!! If you get there when the class is actually a suppose to start youre late. Who in their right mind does that?????????

Professor Paxton was an excellent math teacher. She is extremely passionate about her subject and is equally caring. Make sure you regularly attend her office hours as she does an exceptional job at clarifying whatever you did not understand in the lecture. The class consisted of five tests and a cumulative final.

She uses Webassign. If that's a dealbreaker, consider that. Personally it wasn't too big of a deal for me (except financially) but she was really helpful in helping me find a way to pay for the Webassign passcode. Talk to her. The more you discuss and talk with her, the more she can help you both in and out of class.

If you take this class thinking that you are going to be that one person who will get an A even though people told you not to do it. You won't. One of 3 things will happen. You'll work really hard and get a B. You'll barely get a C. Or you'll drop and take it with someone else. If you care about your GPA avoid taking this woman. Take anyone else

She is one of the best math professors ever! She is super caring and she makes sure we understand everything! She gives practice tests and review sheets for the tests which help a lot since they are pretty similar to the test questions! She also goes over some homework questions before starting a new lecture I would definitely take her class again

Extremely caring professor, i have taken her classes four times and i will continue to take the classes she teaches. I failed math 110 i took with another professor but im taking her for my second time and maintaining a 85%. Those saying shes a tough grader are those who dont show up or dont pay attention. You almost always have to work in math !!

Nice lady and passionate about her job, but she doesn't go over all the topics in class. She usually goes over all the easy stuff in class, leaving you all the hard concepts to self learn. If you aren't willing to study HARD and just need this math as a prereq I would not recommend Paxton, only if you need higher maths and need a good foundation.

She's a great professor, she really knows what she's talking about and she's very passionate. But you must be prepared to work your butt off. Her tests are quite difficult, but she gives as many points as she can. I studied as much as I could and still couldn't get the grade I wanted. She's very caring though and is always ready to help.
