Comment:
One of the hardest professor I have ever taken. She is one of the intro to Chem professors at PSU LV and the other chem professor isn't much better. Would recommend taking CHEM 110 at another campus and having the credits transfer because it will be a pain learning it from her.

She may seem to know what she's talking about, but that doesn't mean she conveys info well. A 5-10 min video on YouTube would leave you more informed than an HOUR long lecture. Tests are unnecessarily convoluted, especially if you look at University Park's sample exams.

If you are not a bio major, do not take this class with Dr. Ealy. After taking it a second time I have realized that the course is much more difficult in Dr. Ealy's course, mostly because you must memorize irrelevant material for the exams. Totally different from the other chem professor who's teaching style is much more preferred.

Frustrating, although she told me chem at penn state is difficult all over, so no easier professor at the campus and just if you are ME like I am I have to take chem 1 and 2. But after taking her I realized how difficult she can be. Like stuff on exams is like nothing I have ever seen or something she might have mentioned a little bit on exams.

Dr. Ealy is an inspiring professor and always has a kind word. Always bring the textbook and a scientific calculator to class, and give yourself lots of space for charts and chemical equations in your notes. She is very available to help you out when you have questions, usually on the 3rd floor.

Here I was, coming into college, with nothing more than a vague fuzzy memory of high school chemistry. I'm scared, I'm out of my element, and all of a sudden Dr. Julie Ealy comes in like an angel from heaven. If you need help, she may make you walk and talk, but she will be your adoptive mother. You can come to her help in class or life. )

She is so helpful if you need it - she'll meet with you and really help you out if you bring her specific questions. Come to class. She is very clear about what she will put on exams, so pay attention and write down questions she asks the class - you'll probably see similar ones on the exams.

Really great professor. Had her Fall 2011 and Spring 2012. Very clear on what she wants on exams. Pay attention and detail your notes from class and that is all that is needed. Nothing is unexpected on her exams. Pay attention in class and study notes and you will pass. She is willing to help and still willing to help me in my chem 430 class.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. The worst decision you can take is to take her over the summer. Both her and her husband are the worst profs I've ever had. She literally thinks she invented chemistry and is the best teacher ever because she "took a bunch of classes about how to make multiple choice questions". Doesn't make her own final. TERRIBLE PROF.

This professor RUINED my life.. Her notes are not organized, doesn't make any sense, and she's not nice to students with no chemistry background. This professor should definitely get fired.

Tough chem lab teacher. Her tests are hard and i feel like they were unfair. I passed her labs just fine but failed tests and did poorly on the lab report. He does talk about her hershey work a lot and i strongly feel like she is very, very knowledgeable in chemistry, she expects her students to grasp every concept just like she does.

She is an awful teacher. Ask her a question and she will "answer" everything but that question. She always talks about working at Hershey and makes it seem like what we are doing in lab is useless. She needs to learn how to teach. I'm sorry but she is a horrible teacher.

She's a disorganized professor. I had her in 2009 for a freshman seminar course. It should have been easy, but her lack of organization complicated things. She didn't always follow the syllabus. In terms of teaching, she explained the material in great detail which was good. But IMO, it would have been better if the course was more structured.

At first this women seems fine. Thats until she tries to misadvise you. Shes a strong feminist. Shes one of the worst teachers ive ever had. she is of no help. she is spiteful. she plays with grades. you have to kiss up to get what grade you deserve. her PhD is in bio yet she teaches chem. She should have stayed in high school. shes a bad person.

She was one of the worst teachers ive had. She made no sense and was worthless. I'm not too happy about her wasting my time. She refused to help anyone. She didn't seem to want to even try to teach the class she wanted her computer lecture to do it for her.
