Valverde so far is my favorite professor at IWU. He is super nice and understanding, which translates over to his grading. He grades easily, and isn't strict about deadlines for homework because he understands it can be a lot. But don't get behind, it can be hard to catch up. He is passionate about the language, always excited to learn more.

I did not want to take Spanish in college, but I had to, and I'm so glad I did. Professor Valverde is very nice and caring about his students. It was the most comfortable Spanish class I have taken. I wasn't nervous about participating, and I learned a lot. The tests are difficult, though!

Cesar is an awesome guy. This is a good class to review grammar, but if you have learn it for the first time, you might get lost. Expect homework, but it's usually just for completion. Also expect to be speaking Spanish 100% of the time in class. There is also a fair amount of reading. The tests are pretty straight forward and there was no final.

Professor Valverde is very nice, but I don't know if he is the best teacher. In class, we do the same thing every day. We just talk about our days in Spanish and do an activity out of the book. It's easy, but monotonous, which makes it hard to get up for this class and actually go.

THIS PROFESSOR IS THE BOMB. I love him, he's by far my favorite professor at IWU. There is quite a lot of busy work as homework, but if you know your stuff, sometimes he'll let you get away with not turning small things in. He's not at all strict with due dates, and all of his classes are chill and low-stress. I can't recommend him enough.

Cesar is an awesome guy but sometimes I feel like I'm not learning much. He gives plenty of busy work and is a very easy grader. We watch a lot of movies because he quickly runs out of things to do with us. I like his class because he's a nice guy but sometimes it feels like a waste of time. Most Spanish classes feel like that, though sometimes.

Oh Cesar, let me count the ways! I LOVE this man! As a hispanic studies major I had him for three classes. He gives a lot of homework, usually busy work, but class is fairly easy. He is not strict on turning things in on time and loves to show movies. He's also EXTREMELY nice! Long live Valverde!

Cesar has become my absolute favorite! He is just the nicest guy. He loves to tell jokes and actually make class enjoyable. You usually get a lot of homework but in the end you learn a lot! He is very understanding and amazingly helpful. Always willing to go the extra mile for his students. So easy to talk to. BEST TEACHER EVER! I heart Cesar!

I love this man. He is such an adorable person & he's super nice! And sometimes be brings his chiuhuauas to class =P He's a pretty easy grader, homework is based on effort, he'll answer whatever question you have, and he tries to make class simple yet interesting.

Wow, first class ever at this university and it is awesome! Valverde is such a cool guy, it's unbelievable. He makes a person expand his or her thoughts on different issues. He teaches some Spanish classes, and I am sure he has the same effects on the people he teaches. Valverde rocks!

I loved Cesar. He was an awesome teacher. The class appears to be a little overwhelming at first, but after awhile you get used to it. His expectations are clear, also hes not an extremely hard grader. Can't wait to have him again next year.

Great Teacher. Anyone interested in either finishing a req. or going further in Spanish should consider him. He is good at keeping students involved in class by mixing the current material with what is going on in their lives outside of class!
