Comment:

Phenomenal Teachers. A true rogue he reminds me of Hemingway. CDOB design process manual is truly amazing; if anyone has complaints about him you clearly were not listening and learning. He isn't going to hold your hand. Dobson created the industrial design program at the school he clearly knows what he is doing. He is old wise and cool.

If you didn''t like CDOB he bruised your ego and there''s no help for you anyway. His design process manual is amazing and you should try it. These guys have been teaching design for a long time. If you didn''t learn anything you didn''t ask enough questions and you obviously didn''t try to understand the concepts. General solutions are everywhere.

Most frustrating class I've ever had. Absolutely hate his holier than thou attitude, and his unrealistic, useless expectations about what you have to submit. Cannot believe his class was mandatory this year.

I expected to love this core class; I would now rather quit this school than take another class with him and that is not an exaggeration. He doesn't care, shows up late for class, doesn't remember your projects from week to week, gives you contradictory advice and his knowledge is questionable. He seems to hate teaching. Waste of money.

One of my favourite teachers! I've had him for Sociology and Design Process. Great guy, lazy but clever, fun to listen to. His procedures can be frustrating sometimes, but once you get used to it, it's a breeze.

I really just didn't like him, to be honest. He knows a decent amount about design but he's usually not very helpful, he's kind of lazy, very full of himself, and has a knack for making people very angry during crits.

In hindsight, foresight, any sight, I learned absolutely NOTHING. what a waste of money, what a waste of time. If you're in foundation, do yourself a favor and take a Mazucca course instead; not the best, but a helluva lot better.

when i took his class for the first time, i thought he just was an oddball teacher, knowledgeable but somewhat snobby.. there was a talk between ppl that he is a ****, and i agreed. but now i think he just has strong opinions about things, not necessarily a ****.. now i even find him funny! knows a lot, but cocky attitude sometimes..

Comment:

I first had a class with Charles in foundation (my first to design). Although his classes seem to lack a warm connective feeling, he does make you think with his bold statements about design. Some say he's lazy, some say he's full of himself, I say he maybe both those things, but he does know what good design is.
