This was a great class but it was very tough. Prof expects very much. I usually get A but I got a B+. Still worth it because I really learned alot but don't take the class unless you are willing to work hard.

Great teacher, 3 tests (curved) and 3 group projects (most people get 100%). Is very willing to help you after class and during office hours. Practice tests really help you to prepare for the exams. Learned more in this class than any other finance class, hands down. **Heavy use of statistics, so be ready**

He is a great professor. He keeps the class interesting and current by reading articles and having open discussions in the first part of class. 3 exams and 3 projects. If you go to class and do the projects you can get an A. You will learn more in this class than any other finance class at UCF.

3 Tests, with some curving, and 3 projects that are completely simple. The projects will help your overall grade, got 100% on all of them. Ending with a B+, this class is really interesting!

If you're used to professors taking their time with material and explaining how to work through problems then this class isn't for you. Material is quickly glossed over without much of an explanation. The class is nothing more than the guy reading his powerpoints to you. This is a self-study class - do not depend on guidance from the professor.

Definitively recommend! Not an easy class, just 3 exams with about 20% curve on each will give you a wrong impression that it will be easy. Very tough class where you will need to study hard. You will end up learning in this single class, more than in all other Finance courses combined. Possible A if you go to class and study.

3 Tests worth 30% each, 2 Projects worth 5% each. I have a 3.8GPA, I am not a slacker and I struggled to get a low B in the class. He tests on material that is not covered in class or in the book. The majority of the class fails. The fact that he has to give 20pt curves every test reflects his poor teachng abilities.

Class IS difficult, but what Finance class isn't? Prof. Chuck(as he likes to be called) is extremely helpful to all those students who are willing to learn. GO TO CLASSES!! And if there is any question go to his office and he will "dumb it down" for you!!

This class was extremely difficult. His test are hard and are on things that he barely talks about. Our first test he had to curve 20% the majority of the class fail with the exception of a couple of students. Yes he is very nice and personable and helpful how this class is still very difficult

Best professor I have ever had! He's friendly and interacts with students and well. You can tell he really cares and is always available to help. Course is somewhat difficult but just work hard, attend class, and read and you will be successful. Take him over the other investment professors!!

awesome professor! TA (minge) wasn't helpful, but he's great. to those that complain, recognize that this is the MAKE OR BREAK finance course. if you don't like it, there's always management or marketing. lots of stat, some calc. reference the text, study the projects, and GO TO THE LECTURES! you'll walk away with an A if YOU put in the effort.

As an A/B student I thought this class was extremely difficult. He emphasizes on the uses of statistics in his class but fails to teach any statistics at all. I was fortunate to come away with a B in the class. The final exam is ridiculously hard and offers no assistance on how to prepare for it. Overall I strongly disliked the professor.

Take him over anyone else (Gilkeson). He prepares you extremely well for future finance classes without making it hard. Ask questions! He will spend the whole class doing the projects for you. You don't need the textbook, exams are from lectures and practice exams. Go to class to understand, attendance not taken. He's extremely helpful and smart

Truly knows what he is talking about! It may seem weird at first but ASK QUESTIONS FREQUENTLY!! If not he will take it as a sign that everyone is on board. Form Study/Project groups from the get go. Great Professor. Was able to explain concepts that, previously, were completely arduous to comprehend.
