Overall not a helpful teacher nor instructor. She doesnt prepare you for the test at all. Worst math teacher Ive had. The tests dont look like material that we covered in lecture. Also the class is online heavy and math online does not correlate with the material we are taught in class. Dont take her.

Her voice is annoying, but once you get pass that I guess it was an ok class. I mean, hey... I passed with an A so I can't complain. Attendance is mandatory because the class was once a week and POINTLESS. We did little "exercises" for 50 minutes. Honestly, if you do ALL of your homework (written & online) and quizzes. then you'll do just fine :)

Howell is a nice professor who is very intelligent and excellent at explaining concepts, but the course is designed in a way that completely neglects her abilities. "Lecture" is only one day of the week for 50 minutes, which is hardly enough to teach anything; so, we have to rely on the God-awful MyMathLab program for lessons. More lecture, please!

I would email for help and she would just say go and watch the lectures over. No help. If you do not get at least 70% on the homework you WILL NOT be able to take the quizzes. If you have a learning disability do not take this class. She did not help me at all.

This class is your basic math class. She is as helpful as a math teacher can be. She always urges you to try and figure out how to solve a problem on your own but she will be with you the whole time helping you figure it out. She's great about setting aside time for office hours. Would definitely take a class with her again!

I took her for Mat150, which is pretty much online but you see her once a week for lecture. To be honest the lectures are sort of pointless but mandatory to get the paper homework. You also have long homework assignment online. If you need a teacher to learn don't take this class because you mostly teach yourself. Don't buy the textbook buy card

I took this class online over the summer. I do NOT recommend anyone take this route, unless they are great at math and have a lot of free time. Although you have to teach yourself, she encourages you to ask for help. Homework was nothing like the tests, which was frustrating, and tests were the only grades.

Dr. Howell is an excellent professor! However, there is not enough time for her to explain every single equation process. You must keep up with the homework and quizzes online. Fortunately, she is very good at answering emails if you have any questions! She has an amazingly pleasant personality and is very enthusiastic and encouraging.

Dr. Howell is a great instructor. the class is pretty easy if you put in the work. We had 3 tests and the final. if you do the mathlab homework or the practice problems, you will have no trouble on the tests. Tests are no more than 15 problems, and they have both free response and multiple choice.

She was a great professor. I almost wish she did have a lecture. She gave you chances to make up work if you missed an assignment and always rooted you on. She made excellent help videos and offered office hours. I wish I was better at math and would have passed.

She makes the most amazing videos for her online class, they definitely saved my semester. MAT 150 is difficult and you need to be careful you get above a 73% or else you can't make it to MAT 151. Requires a good amount of time studying.

Great teacher. Took it online, but she is super helpful. Hard class (in itself) to take online, but she made it possible. If you are going to think about taking any math class online, beware it is a lot of work. But she helped as much as possible.

I hate math and had a hard time with doing it all online, but she made it as simple and easy as it could be. Often re-opening assignments and going over things she felt we might struggle with. Definitely recommend her.

She's super nice and makes the class very easy, but still informative. If you're worried about this class, I definitely recommend her. She's always willing to help and you'll actaully learn what you need to know if you're taking it as a pre-rec for another math class!
