He's very helpful when you go to office hours! I always studied the day before exam and I did okay and managed to get a B-. It is very competitive due to the engineering grad students but as long as you go to office hours and make sure he knows who you are then you will be fine in this class

Comment:

Great teacher. I missed a lot of class but still managed a B-. Definitely need to know how to interpret regressions beforehand. I didn't, but went to office hours and he explained everything nicely. Teaches a lot of stuff, but lots of it won't be on the exams. Don't need the book at all!

Professor Knittel is amazing. I actually looked forward to going to his class. He picks interesting examples, and his exams are indicative of the material covered in lecture. Unlike some other courses, your grade is an accurate reflection of how much attention you paid in class. Pay attention and a good grade should take care of itself.

First, he's not THAT funny. He cracks a few jokes but nothing that would make me thing he's stand up material. I failed both of his midterms. I recieved 80% (minimum) on all the HW assign. I locked myself away for 2 days. Did not eat anything except for coffee. I got an A on the final. C+ in the course.

I think most econ classes are boring (i.e. ecn 1, 100, 101) and I thought 121A would be the same. So I took this class with low expectations, but Knittel really made the subject matter clear and above all else interesting. Hands down best econ teacher at davis. Highly recommended.

Professor Knittel is very clear in his presentations, his problems sets are good examples of what to expect on the midterm. Don't bother buying the book, his lectures are key. He is also funny, charming, and cute making the class more enjoyable. He goes off on educational and intellectually stimulating tangents that only make him seem cuter

Professor Knittel has the most elaborate ppt presentations I've ever seen in my life. He's totally cute, charming and funny. His first midterm was hard and his final was pretty much impossible. Lectures are key. Don't even bother with the book. It just sucks.

be careful coz Pro. Knittel will look on this web site~ haha, but i like him though, he's my idol (but he's married...sigh)~ materials are not easy but he explains them clearly until you understand everything! therefore, please attend his lectures!! and you will see how cute he is~ (btw, i got an A)
