Professor Johnson is hands down one of the treasures at Fordham. She is a renowned Catholic feminist theologian, but also one of the best professors I've had. She is an excellent teacher who loves teaching and her students. She values participation and leads stimulating discussions. Do the reading, take notes, and you'll be fine. Highly recommend!

Professor Johnson was very nice and very helpful, but she was not a good teacher. Her lectures did not have any structure to them and she did not do a good job at explaining all of the difficult passages about theology. Tests were hard, long, and obscure. The journal was helpful in pulling up my grade though. I honestly thought I was going to fail.

This was my second time taking her! Absolutely amazing professor who is passionate about what she is teaching. Class felt more like one big story than lecture. Monthly journal checks, one large paper, midterm and final. Final and midterm are all what she says in class - so mostly factual and easy to decipher. One of the leading feminist theologians

For her Christ in World Cultures, honestly there are better options. She weighs way too heavily on participation. And I participated a way decent amount. After putting in a decent amount on papers and tests, she still tore apart what I wrote. Somewhat unfair. Better core alternatives. I would suggest another alternative.

Had her for faith and critical reasoning. Really interesting and is one of the smartest professors I've ever had, if you do the reading and PARTICIPATE you'll do fine. She's big on participation. Didn't grade too hard, as well.

This is a very good professor and I would recommend her class. She is quite secular, but open to discussion. She also does have her favorites, but looks favorably on participation. She relies heavily on participation, and is probably the make or break part of your grade. Fair overall.

Had her for faith and critical reasoning. Was very helpful, probably the smartest professor I've ever had. One large (15 page) paper, a small presentation, and a variety of small assignments throughout the semester. Not hard to get an A!

Charitable, friendly, helpful during office hours, grades fairly. This feminist theologian is not "Catholic," but is instead infected with modernism, indifferentism, panentheism, & syncretism. No Catholic theologian would say, as she did one morning class in fall 2008, that justice demands that homosexual domestic partners receive civil benefits.

She's a sweet lady and has a strong passion for the material. Attendance is mandatory. I loved the class until I got my grades. I had gotten an A on my midterm paper, A- on the midterm, and an A on the final paper yet ended up with an B+ for the course? She weighs way too heavily on participation. And I did actually participate a decent amount.

BRILLANT prof. TAKE HER CLASSES. She's extremely helpful, interesting and runs discussion based classes. Work load is managable, lots of discussions based off readings. One major paper, midterm and final. Fascinating teacher, I would take any class she taught.

Class is very difficult. Expects so much from her students. The twelve page term paper is on a book that she wrote and it's very difficult to read. She is very intelligent and into her subject but I would say try to avoid the class.

If you have the choice of taking a class taught by this professor or one taught by the Warden of a Women;s Prison, go for the Warden, she'll be much more fun and happy.

I don't see why people say she's cold. Her grading system is a bit annoying. The Format of her "talking points" drove me Bats***. But the discussions were fun, and she was engaging. My final grade was lower than expected. Take her, but watch her
