Great Professor! I took Black History with him twice and American History once. I used to hate history but he most certainly changed that. His work is time consuming but he is very helpful. DO NOT hesitate to ask questions.

He is great!! I loved this teacher! Im an international student and I didn't know that much about American history. After this class I learned a lot! Profesor Christopher was really clear and I really liked his way of teaching! Take him!

Very nice person indeed, but his lectures are often very vague, rarely abide on the text books. Students are expected to take copious notes in class if you can keep up with him.... in spite of all these negative ratings he is still a great professor who will spend time with you personally if you seek for help

Professor Jimenz is very understanding and helpful. He helps you to think and look at the history in various ways rather than one single way. I do not like history but i enjoyed learning in his class. You have to write 3 essay for each test but the questions are already given before the test so there are no surprises.

Great teacher! I was so glad I took this class. Essays are based on online primary sources, lectures and class discussions. Path to an A is to attend every class, take meticulous notes, get in a good study group and have your essays prepared in advance. Be prepared to work hard, think hard and have a great time.

He is an excellent teacher. Recommended. Great memory and mind, and also a good heart- cares for all people-whatever race they are. He teaches at a high level so do the reading before class, and bring a dictionary because he has a rich vocabulary.

He is by far the best professor I have ever had. He has so much knowledge it is disgusting. A walking, talking history book. His class is not easy by far & I have never studied so hard, but I would do it again just for his great lectures. Don't leave SMC before u take his class. Thank you professor West!

This prof. was an excellent teacher. Fascinating lecturer. Very unbiased, always presented all sides of controversy - seemed to have no political agenda. Very clear, fair grader. Although quantity of material was demanding, I enjoyed this class so much and learned a great deal. He seems to be passionate about his subject.

This guy is brilliant. He doesn't expect too much from you...just show up to class...great heads up on Midterm and Final. If you show interest he is a Prince. He is one of the most intellectual - rational - balanced minds I have ever met...keeps his own ideas to himself and always gives you the other eide of an argument.

Chris is perhaps one of the most worldwide intellectuals regarding his subject at this particular college (excluding many of the prejudice/Bias that is held in galore here). SMC offers a fairly adequate schedule of history courses, but this man focuses his energy on more than just history.Great man!

great teacher. chris' teaching is what gives SMC such a good rep. for transfering to major 4 yr. schools. he challenges his students and forces you to think on your own rather than memorize a book. i would definetly take any other courses he offered

These are inaccurate critiques of Chris. One of the most brilliant minds I've ever came across, this class will change your life if you listen. Though the class isn't the easiest, he'll give you what's on the exams ahead of time to study. He's always there for help if you ask; clear lectures too.

This guy SHOULD be history! I did'nt learn a thing--and anything I knew I forgot. Who hired this man, can't teach, can't talk, and is so caught up in himself. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! Take it someone else--ANYONE else.
