He is an amazing professor. He broke everything into steps and even showed short cuts. He is at the tutoring lab majority of the time and is willing to help. You will have homework to do (recommended) they will help with your exams. He will also take time in the beginning of class to go over any questions you may have. I'd take him again. :)

I took him in 3 series, first the basic maths, elementary algebra and then intermediate algebra. I made A+ on all 3 classes because his so easy and his methods are clear and easy. The make test question from the homework, if you did your homework then you will made A+ for sure.

He is awesome! I have always had issues with math and needed a teacher like him. First time in my life I actually understand and to get As in math....miracle! He is fun and cool! Take him! Just keep down on talking and show up!

You'll love him! He takes his time to go through the homework before class. He makes sure you understand everything. Attend class, do homework, and take the tests or he'll drop you. His tests are pretty EASY and come strait from the homework. If you want extra help just go to class early.

Has been 30 years since I took a math class (high school), and was very intimidated algebra. Prof Gaertner was the first teacher that actually helped me not only learn the methods, but also understand them. A lot to learn, but he spaces it all out well. Homework once a week and only 4 total test the whole semester. He is also funny which helps...

THE PERFECT TEACHER!!! HE BROKE MATH DOWN WITH A COMBINATION OF CLASS LECTURE AND HOMEWORK. Gaertner made elementary algebra fun. I had been away from school for 20 years before starting again, and math was always my downfall. The prof is very laid back and breaks down algebra in a way that is easy to understand. He is quite helpful both in class and learning center. Several students, including myself signed up for his next class also.

Terrible professor. I went every day and have a pretty ggood grasp of math, but he did a terrible job of showing what he wanted and the tests were questions I had never seen or learnt anything about. DO NOT TAKE unless you are a math genius.

Like most math classes, the workload can get really overwhelming if you let it. He began the semester by telling us we needed to drop it if we couldn't keep up. I thought that approach was strange, but he was a decent teacher and I understood everything he explained almost immediately. ATTEND CLASS! Missing class is fatal to your grade, seriously.

It may seem he teaches but he is not clear and concise. He writes all over the board but fails to see if everyone is on the same page he's on. I had to drop the course because it was not worth the money. If math is difficult you for don't take him. I took Ms. Weldon in 0370 was great and I got a B in the course.

pro: great teacher, dumbs things down, can explain any problem really well. minor test curve. cons: does not give a review. what he says is on the test will not be on the test. if it is, only 1 problem. strict scheduling, will not deviate from it for any reason.

This guy = success! I always HATED math, but after taking Brock's class I can appreciate the subject matter. He has an Engineering degree which is reflected in his teaching style. He makes you apply the rules and understand how the problem works...everything made sense. Register early to get Gaertner!!!!
