Comment:

So long as you showed up to lecture you would definitely pass. Never did any outside work besides a lil bit of homework I didnt get done in class and got an A. If something was unclear I would ask him after class and he explained it pretty well. Sometimes he would call out students, but if you were uncomfortable he would stop.

Comment:

Dr. Morgan is one of the smartest professors I have ever had, he knows just about everything there is to know about synthesis. However, if you're a beginner he doesn't know how to teach to you. If you ask for help he'll usually just end up doing everything for you. You'll never get anything back you turn in or even see a grade for it.

I would say go to class. His class to me was hard and I was going to go to be a music major. He was nice though and definitely encouraged me to retake the final so that I could get an A. I was surprised bc no other teacher has said that to me. I think having some music experience would help a lot in his course. Funny at times!

this guy is difficult. hes nice but his teaching methods doesnt work. "oh you should know this by now" *skips to next question* doesnt really help you learn. you pretty much look on the internet for help like wiki. every question on test is a short answer.. difficult. i dont recommend!

for the people who arent familiar with synthesis and never used reaktor before, are going to have a difficult time. he explains everything in textbook detail which makes the class boring. i tried and tried but i just cant pay attention without dozing off. no powerpoints, all talk, reviews are vague, no mult choice test. HARD

I took Songwriting 1 with him. He really cares about the class. I enjoyed having him as a teacher. He even helped me finish my first song ever by playing the piano! He did an awesome jazz-blues solo on it at the coffee house showcase. I was like "Yea!!!". He's really laid back and funny. Would definitely take from him again.

I took Midi 1 & 2, Synthesis 1 & 2, Composition, and maybe some others. Chris is a cool laid back guy. Just get your assignments done and you will be fine. The material is difficult to grasp at first, but Chris does a good job explaining. You can always meet with him outside of class too. He is definitely smart and into computer music.

After about 60 earned hours, Chris is still probably one of my favourite professors. He does teach in somewhat of a disorganized manner, not strictly adhering to a syllabus, etc, but he is very intelligent and a bit geeky and makes things interesting because of his own interest in the subject He does have a sense of humour like someone else noted

Has a good sense of humor & overall teachers an interesting course. Tests are not hard- just come to class & review the parts of the book he emphasizes. Only fault is that he is somewhat disorganized - just scribbles notes out on board in small writing.
