Spanish Business was the most disappointing thing. $200 book, all the quizzes and exam questions are ripped straight from it and the answers are online. All he did was expect us to read the material and show up to class to play games. Half the time class let out early. Easy to pass but I didn't learn anything from him. Just buy the book.

Great professor, super knowledgeable. Class was not easy, but I learned a lot. The class, homework, tests got easier toward the end, except for the final. It was open book, but cumulative and timed, so study was necessary notwithstanding open book.

Great professor. The class was really fun and enjoyable. You talk about different stories, authors, and books from the spanish culture during class and then write three analyses during the semester and have three tests that you write analyses for. As long as you read the material before class and attend you will be able to understand everything.

I really enjoyed this professor. Very friendly atmosphere in class and for the class I took it was fairly easy. i took span 3160. we used the book every class period, but we didn't have to read other books.

Get ready to have inconsistent grading and vague remarks. He's very intelligent but also condescending if you have a different viewpoint. He doesn't like people who disagree with him. I barely got an A- and worked extremely hard.

He is a very good teacher. Has a great understanding of Spanish. Everything he uses in class helps on tests. If you do the work in and outside of class and attend, and obvioulsy speak Spanish you should pass.

I struggled in this class. I didn't feel like his reviews or tests were helpful at all. He was nice to my face but harsh on the grading scale. I talked to him about concerns and problems, but he didn't seem to give me any sympathy. He is nice and fun, but I trudged my way through this class with no help at all. Barely passed.

I would not recommend this professor. His tests were hard to understand. His grading system for compositions wasn't clear. He seemed to favor students with some kind of background in spanish or multiple languages. I enjoyed my other spanish classes and didn't like this one.

Comment:

Professor Bergeson is not the best Spanish teacher but he does know his stuff. His tests weren't all that clear and he mostly has you reading out of the book in order to prepare for the tests. If you're good at memorizing every little event in a book, take this class and you'll love his tests. He is reasonable.

Comment:

Upper-Division classes are extremely time consuming and difficult. He is eager to help you though, if you are willling to put forth the effort. Many different books are used, which was rather pricey.
