Dale can be very rude. As others have stated, I can see how one might think that he plays favorites. I am not sure what is going on with Dale but, I do not have faith in him. What I have seen in class in regard to his teaching is that he can undermine the students progress.

Dale is amazing and inspirational. Best class I've ever taken at AAU. Assignments are pleasurable and fun because you can truly show your creativity and point of view at your work. Dale understands creativity very well, and inspire his students to draw and experiment.

Dale is an excellent teacher and is there to help push and exercise your own natural talent. His in-class lectures offer insight into the real world and encourages experimentation in drawing. My work has gone from ordinary to "WOW!!!" and I have Dale to thank for this eye-opening experience. If you live and breathe fashion you'll LOVE this class!

I attended the Academy, and took Dale's Class for the first time in 2001. That year, Sketching for Communication, and Fashion Life Drawing--the next semester-- were my favorite classes. Dale is thoughtful when conducting classes. He has an intuition for teaching drawing that goes unparalleled. Every day, I miss his class.

Dale praises/encourages those who deserve it, helps those making an EFFORT to improve, and is stern when necessary. He does play favorites but at least it's based on the quality of work and nothing else. Sometimes can be forgetful. Also he spends a lot of time on critique and sharing from books, so if this is a problem for you try another teacher.

He tends to care about students that he likes eventhough the students are great already, whereas he never approach those who really2 need helps.I dont think I learn something from this class. He was a great workshop teacher but not a classroom teacher, because he plays favorite.

Dale is an amazing teacher. His wealth of knowledge and no-student-left-behind attitude are rare qualities that make him stand head and shoulders above his contemporaries in the fashion/education dept. Dale teaches from life-long experience and truly enjoys seeing his students grow. He is first rate.

Dale is a great teacher. He really likes drawing, and is patient with all of his students. Although, you must do all of your homework, attend all classes and listen to his advice in order to do well in this class. He is a cool guy and a funny teacher.
