Hated him at first, however he turned out to be pretty cool. His class is informal, and its not so much marketing, but more learning about the world. It is just one big discussion rather than just learning off slides. He is very smart and has lots of experience. The midterm and final were interesting to say the least! Great teacher overall :)

Hes very pricky about grammar and test. You can write almost everything you learned to answer his test questions but still get at most a B or C only because you missed one very TINY detail that he was looking for. Equal opportunity doesnt exist in his world. And he definetly play favorites.

he's cool. he only has like three assignments during the whole semester and two midterms. better than other professors because there are no big projects or papers. I thought his class was easy. I had the least amount of work during the semester in his class. Just study for the midterm, final and participate a lot and you're guaranteed at least B+.

this guy is a joke, will talk about his German years and European nationalities stereotypes, he likes to pick on Poland. he's majorly deaf so you will get irritated repeating yourself. This class is as simple as he's right and you're wrong. Avoid at all costs. If you're german he'll call on you a lot. annoyingly laughs at own jokes.

He will make you rewrite whole essays so make sure you have the right sized paper. Easy class but you have to read the material. Text book is cheap so that's a plus. A little on the hard side for grading but nothing unmanageable.

Gives out crappy grades at first, but just takes time to get used to his grading. Has pop-quizzes, a midterm, and final. Tests are short answer. There's a makeup test to make up any bad grades. It helps your grade A LOT and has most of the same q's from old tests. Take good notes on EVERYTHING he talks about- it's the only stuff you get tested on!

Take this class if you aren't a marketing major. The class is taught as a broad overview of marketing, which is fine if it isn't your major. Does talk too much about law, Germany, and beer. Make flashcards and study them for all the tests and they wont be hard. Makeup quiz makes a world of difference for some. Must study to do well.

Will be frustrating at first because he gives low grades on the quizzes and essays, but later gives a make-up quiz so that you can get all those points back. The final is easy, it's all questions that you have seen before and the material is easy to pick up on. The textbook is only $20.

Evans uses the class as his soapbox to talk about law, his time in Germany & todays hot topics. He's unclear on what his grading standards are, but the class is not that hard. Just do your essays (3), 1 midterm, 1 final, and quizes (he will give a makeup quiz at the end of the semester to make up all quiz grades - not a bad deal).

This class taught me nothing. The grading criteria were not clear and consisted of his personal subjective measures. I passed with a B, but I am tempted to take this class again [with a different professor] so I can actually learn the subject.

This man is rude, condescending, and classless. He is disconnected from how current academia is played out. His respect for others is apparent at day one. He believes himself to be omniscient and his narcissism surpasses that of many other people I have had the displeasure of meeting. I am a non-business major and I can now see why San Jose State h

Take him! You'll learn lots about everything, but be sure you have ACE'D 100W before you take him, because EVERYTHING is writing. If you can think outside the box and write well, you'll pass no problem. PARTICIPATE like CRAZY and write REALLY GOOD essays, you may get out of the final. If you don't get something, just ask him, he really is helpful.

Best marketing professor at this school. You learn a lot and he is very easy. He asks the same questions over and over again until you get it right. The final had the same questions as the midterm. Participation is a must and he does not like it when ppl walk in the class late. Easy A for sure.

Intro to Marketing...if you're like me by the time you are a junior marketing major and you have to take upper division "intro to marketing" again, it's redundant. But Prof. Evans is interesting and fun. He asks the same ?s over and over again on exams, so get it right the first time & you're golden. Participate and show up to class for an EASY "A"

No Textbook, grades weird at first but the midterm and the final are very easy. gives a makeup quiz that improves your grade by about 20% which was easy. learn the marketing mix, the lists he provides, and youll be fine. Once you know what he wants, your good. He believes in quality not quanity. Easy class nice guy

He's a lawyer teaching marketing, somehow those don't mix. He uses the socratic method (puts people on the spot) which works great in court but not so much in class. Seems more interested in international business and has an inconsistent grading system. BUT once I figured out what he's looking for it was easy to get at least a B on quizes & tests.

Evans loves to talk about his travels in Germany, but doesn't do a great job talking about marketing. He asks the same questions over and over again, but is never happy with your answers, which I guess being a lawyer, he can't do. Policies are clear and upfront, but his grading systems is skewed since it's based on his "interpretations" of ur work.
