Awful professor. Said first day of class he likes research>teaching - it showed. Tests are relatively easy if you do this: know his slides better than you know yourself + AK lectures to supplement or use the textbook (not so much). Curves 10+ points per test bc of <60 avg. Quizzes class day b4 exams. Attendance taken randomly. Doable, but GL.

Dr. Kunz is a mad old man. He jumps all over his lectures, adds in random bits and goes on long tangents about incredibly personal information about his daughter. He will write things on the bottom of the board as a side thought and it will be on the test. Literally anything that comes out of his mouth, or is on the board could be on the test.

Incredibly difficult lectures to follow. He jumps around like crazy and goes into a lot of detail. His exams are hard and worded to trip you up. He holds review sessions, but is not helpful at all and will refuse to answer questions. Tons of work to pass. Im sure he's a nice guy outside of class, but avoid at all costs! Take Dr. Kim instead!

I took Dr. Kunz during a summer course. You have to read the material and come to lecture to do well because his exam questions can be very detailed. No real reviews given because he made the exams a few days before we had to take them, just a Q&A session the class beforehand, although understandable since we had exams every week. Decent professor.

I think Kunz is a great prof. He's not easy and his lectures are sometimes hard to follow but you'll learn a ton in his classes and he's always there in his office hours. He's really super sweet in person and he holds review sessions before exams to help you. To study, I took notes of everything he said and read the book. I made an A and enjoyed it

Kunz is the worst teacher at UNT. He does not care about his students, is unapproachable, hard to follow and cant answer questions asked just says read the textbook. Avoid him at all costs, he will ruin your gpa.

Dr. Kunz is a smart guy, but he is so all over the place with not only his powerpoints but his teaching too. It just seems like a lot of the time he teaches things that end up not being relevant on the quizzes or tests. You HAVE to read the textbook and look up topics you don't understand. His exams are HARD and try to trick you. STUDY hard!

Lectures lack structure and are unorganized. Kunz is extremely knowledgeable in microbiology and is very enthusiastic about it. I learned a lot from his class. This is a professor that will make you work for your grade and study hard. Record lectures and take notes of everything. He does curve and give extra credit on almost every test.

Kunz is very difficult. Tests are very hard with multiple choice and free response. He curved every exam by 8-10 pts. He does do 4 quizzes (drops the lowest) that are 10% of your overall grade and attendance is worth 5%. He did 3 pop-quizzes but they were extra credit on the exam grades. He is tough, but overall he does give a ton of extra credit.

This guy is crazy. He realized that he finished the syllabus material early he added an additional unit the DAY BEFORE THE FINAL and expected us to know it in detail. We already had like 9 chapters and this wasn't the first time. Dude doesn't care about his students, just his research. Avoid at all costs for the sake if your GPA.

Tests are awful with trick questions and bad wording. The specifics will trip you up because he goes over generally, SAYS he doesn't want to go into specifics but then tests you on them. Worked hard enough for an A and got a B because of the trick questions.

Just don't. He'll rush through material, confuse himself during lecture and say things wrong. Tests are unreasonable, once had a test with 8 chapters and he added a new one the day before AND expected you to have it memorized (10+ carb structures). No review. Tests over obscure details, only goes over general material. Better to teach yourself.

Dr. Kunz is a smart individual. His manner of teaching however, is not the best for students. Be prepared to take fast and good notes during class, have access to half of the powerpoint slides he gives in class, and to read the book all the time in order to understand whats going on.

He is okay. As long as you put an effort to study, you will make an A in this class. You have to read the book and write down the diaphragm for each chapter. Follow his powerpoint and take notes. I like him! He gives a lot of extra credit.

So close to graduating with a 4.0 until I took this class. Good luck everyone. You'll need it. His class has no structure. His PP slides are not in the order of his lectures. If you like printing out slides to take notes, forget it, his note slides are constantly edited so you never know what's the final copy. No reviews for quiz or test. BEWARE!!!

He puts questions on tests about things he mentions briefly during lecture, so make sure to write down everything he says. Go to his review sessions before tests, he answers any questions you have and will stay there until people stop asking questions. Also, use the textbook to supplement topics covered in lecture. An A is possible.

Dr. Kunz is a really good but hard professor, you have to go to every class, write down almost everything he says and make sure you read the textbook! You have to be prepared to do the work and know the material inside and out! His quizzes are very tricky so watch out. He gives a lot of bouns points on his tests too. Sit at the front!

Do not take Kunz if you can't take good notes in lecture. All of his test questions are straight from everything that he says in class. If you write down everything that he says word for word, you'll be fine. Once you go over your notes, try to find that particular topic in the book for better understanding. He does curve 5-10 points on test.
